I started this thread on "posted on Oct, 4 2012 @ 08:42 PM" Approx. 1.5 years ago. Not giving up tho.

I have been waiting for a single response from the Mods and...A few OP's have replied so my thanks goes out to them.

But so far nothing. So I kept it to myself. Trusting that sooner or later the powers that be of ATS will notice. They notice but the response is nil. Why?

Many members have lent their support as well. Only one that I can see thought it wasn't necessary until I point out the obvious answer to the objection:

First of all the benefits of such a forum:

Animal cruelty
Friendship
Animal rights
Acts of Bravery/Compassion
Testing in Sciences
Search & Rescue
Care of pets
Human/Animal Relationships
Origins
Medical
And yes...Conspiracy subjects as well.

Now the challenge:

We got a place for any animal related questions and its in cryptozoology or paranormal and even skunk work. What do you want to discuss? Unknown animals? Chimeras? Man made hybrids? Creatures from other planets which are not carbon based lifeforms? We got crypto for that. BUT no, you are on a specialized forum which focus firstly on conspirations and mysteries of all kind and secondly every alternatives and ideas possible, and YOU decide you want a normal forum where you could post videos your dear cats dogs or pigs' grunts? There are thousand of others boards for that, so why here? It is absolutely unnecessary.

Thank you for your comments. Seeing that you are the only person on this very long thread of support, you should be the one to use the same logic on the following forums:

Food and Cooking
Relationships
Jokes
Puns, & Pranks
Travel
Automotive Discussion
Music
Video Games
Comics
Television
General Entertainment
Movies
Fantasy & Science Fiction
Member Art
World Sports
U.S. Sports
Website Design

There are of course a few more that might fall into your view of what should and should not be allowed but you can point them out if you wish.

This is a site that is user generated. My question is why the users can not have a forum they so clearly want while other lesser forums are still up and running?

Many of us contribute to ATS on a Daily/Yearly basis and Don't ask much so this seems like a small request considering how many of us feel about our animals/pets. We contribute to ATS to make the site what it is...How About giving back?

I'm all for it. Just think ATS, you could sell add space to pet related companies. If you view a new Animal Forum as a venue for generating income...it sounds workable, doesn't it?

What could you possibly want to discuss about peace that can't be categorized in the current model?

I would suggest using the Complaint/Suggestion form in the tool bar above and make a suggestion about it. I would also maybe send a PM off to Springer and/or SkepticOverlord to get an official response.

Ok,

A few responses. So few among the many that I've missed them actually. Given.

But to go the route of complaint/suggestion is a black hole and many know it. Once in it, there is no way out and believe me I've tried.

Also, why would we have to go this route? It's in the "Board" section so it's out there for all to see...right? Seems redundant to me.

So this is my alternate approach.

In respect I will change my OP to "A few OP's have replied". It's only right.

Just stopping by to share my support for a pets/animals board.
I think it would be a successful addition and I'd love to see it... Besides, it could bring in more potential members as well as more potential ad revenue as was posted above.

I definitely support your request for an Animal/Pets forum - I wasn't aware of your proposal previously because I am sporadic on ATS, and just discovered the new topics option. : )

Given all that, I will say that I don't create threads here except on a few rare occasions. I did create one last year under rants concerning one of my dogs who I feared was either going to die, or lose his leg. You can't imagine the support and comfort I received from posters through that one thread.

Point being, (and this is why I don't create threads, ha, ha) is that you do have an audience here in that many are animal lovers! People can be very passionate about the topic -- more so than many of the topics you list, and it is a great connection for the community.

This is your rant and I was hesitant to post advice to you, so please take this as a written brainstorm, and from an advocate on your behalf

Why not make an amendment to your request by being more specific?

Examples:

• Do you want this in ATS or OT aka BTS?
• If OT, could the kind decision-makers possibly combine TV/movies/general entertainment, for instance? Or ditch the automotive forum?
• Provide statistics/numbers associated with existing forums

It will take a little research on your part in researching the usage of current forums, but I'm sure others around here would be willing to help you : )

I am running a fever right now so disregard if it's nonsense sounding

I'm surprised there hasn't been one yet anyway considering most of the internet is obsessed with cute animals.
