I had this in another thread, but have yet to have one anti-gun, pro-registration person reply to it.
Will try it here. . . . .
As a matter of fact, why not support government registration of all computers and laptops!
Child porn is an ugly horrible thing. This way, government can find the bad guys right away!
When you buy a computer, (there is a 3 week waiting period, background checks) you are given a government-issued IP address. It'll be tracked, and monitored and flagged if anything naughty comes to it or is done by it.
But if you're not doing anything bad, there will be nothing to worry about. (or aboot if you're Canadian)
Now different politicians come and go. Different ideologies come and go. A new administration may not like it if you are downloading Muslim sites or Christian sites, or Tea Party sites, or Fluffy Bunny sites.
But by then, it'll be too late.
But hey, it was to stop child pornography.

And a few more gun control advocates -
History is not really in the anti-gun crowds favor. All you anti-gun advocates reading this should ask yourself do you trust TPTB. If you said YES your mind is sadly lost. If you said NO then why on earth would you give them all the power.
History will show us the future they will try and get everyone to register then they will use that list to confiscate. The US is the last large group of people to still have a pair. The rest of the world is left hoping TPTB will be kind masters.

It's apparent that without your guns you are a very scared people. Sad.
If the world loses the only defender of individual liberty due to the adolescent notion that bureaucrats know best, we may have been to blame but we will have folks like you to thank.

I like the part where most of the statistics are most likely just made up ... gun propaganda.
I am not saying guns are bad, or they should be banned, but c'mon at least post stuff that is real.
For example. The UK has a violent crime rate that is quite high, but you must take into consideration that the UK consists of Ireland. England alone has a low violent crime rate, why? Because getting a gun is tough, only specified officers carry guns, the others travel in groups with batons. The only people who should be carrying a gun is special law enforcement, people with proper permits, and proper education, and well, of course criminals will always find a way.

You do know Ireland as a whole was a hell hole for a very long time right?
They never even followed the laws of the UK and England. You points make no sense. The UK only has high violent crimes because in the last 20 years car bombs and random killings were a daily occurrence.

The UN Small arms treaty is a joke. It should have been called only Government and the UN can have small arms treaty.
Even if the US senate were to some how ratify this garbage the Constitution is still supreme law. Treaties are below it. Otherwise we would have lost all our rights a long time ago.
The UN can go pound sand and pout.

Defense against the bad guys is great and all,but I watched a video of Ukraine civilians fending off the Russian army taking over their country with BRICKS AND ROCKS......now I don't worry so much of another country rolling into America, I worry about our country deciding they will take 40% of all our savings. How much land we can own, how much food we have stored, you name it. The chance we will need to fend off other grabs BESIDES guns is coming to the surface.
So yeah, home/personal defense is great, hunting (I'm a vegetarian) is fine if it's to survive, but I'm talking about DEFENDING OURSELVES and KEEPING ALL OUR RIGHTS. How do people not see this?

Feel free to call me blind,, but I am sure the 2nd amendment will stay in place for the Sane.
Is there really a threat that we the people are going to loose our right to bare arms?
It may not come as surprising news to many of you that the United Nations doesn’t approve of our Second Amendment. Not one bit. And they very much hope to do something about it with help from some powerful American friends. Under the guise of a proposed global “Small Arms Treaty” premised to fight “terrorism”, “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates” you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted – our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms.
What, exactly, does the intended agreement entail?
While the terms have yet to be made public, if passed by the U.N. and ratified by our Senate, it will almost certainly force the U.S. to:
Enact tougher licensing requirements, creating additional bureaucratic red tape for legal firearms ownership.
Confiscate and destroy all “unauthorized” civilian firearms (exempting those owned by our government of course).
Ban the trade, sale and private ownership of all semi-automatic weapons (any that have magazines even though they still operate in the same one trigger pull – one single “bang” manner as revolvers, a simple fact the ant-gun media never seem to grasp).
Create an international gun registry, clearly setting the stage for full-scale gun confiscation.
In short, overriding our national sovereignty, and in the process, providing license for the federal government to assert preemptive powers over state regulatory powers guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment in addition to our Second Amendment rights.
Have no doubt that this plan is very real, with strong Obama administration support. In January 2010 the U.S. joined 152 other countries in endorsing a U.N. Arms Treaty Resolution that will establish a 2012 conference to draft a blueprint for enactment. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has pledged to push for Senate ratification.
