The question becomes more relevant with the mindset you just described for Russia with it being close to the end on the world stage. I can see Putin behaving like a wounded animal, lashing out at anything and everything as it goes down. To be honest I would prefer the risk and have forces ready / close to counter anything than stand down and get blindsided.

Russia started this mess, and to suggest those nations who don't agree should just walk away to keep the peace is, with all due respect, and insane idea.

The fact of the matter is, if Russia doesn't back off the S will hit the F and Russia KNOWS it. This is not just about Ukraine. The whole region is surrounded by NATO countries who joined NATO for a reason.

Of course, this gentleman is just a concerned citizen in Eastern Ukraine. There is overwhelming evidence that Russia has orchestrated the downfall of Eastern Ukraine and with the Ukrainian government proving impotent in their approach to the latest events I don't think anything can stop a full on invasion by Russia.

Russia does have a choice. Trying to say otherwise has no merit and is nothing more than a round about manner for Russia to keep what it has by suggesting things could get worse if countries don't back off.

Do you really think countries will allow Russia to continue eating up former SSR's and that Europe / US will just watch? Ukraine got snatched because they were not a member of NATO. Sanctions wont be involved in the response should Russia venture into a NATO country.

Diplomacy by blackmail ended when the Soviet Union fell. It did not work then and will not work now. If Russia does not have to move its forces then they have absolutely no say in where NATO places it forces.

As Russia has stated, what a nation does inside its own territory is no one else's business. Unless of course Russia is referring to everyone else but themselves, in which case they think they are special and people should ask how high when Russia says jump.

Im not sure how things work there, but my agency generally does not announce our actions in advance, and by that I mean specific operations, times, locations we start at etc etc.

Well, since CIA director has been sighted visiting Kiev on Saturday and reportedly gave the go ahead for a military suppression of East Ukrainian, that's good enough for me to see who's calling the shots in Kiev.

So two military trucks which were escorted by Ukraine police were stopped while trying to enter Eastern Slavansk region. Police car fled. Inside the truck ammunition for MLRS Grad system was found. RIA Novosti - CIA Denies Director Brennan’s Role in Protest Crackdown in Ukraine

MOSCOW, April 14 (RIA Novosti) – The Central Intelligence Agency rejected reports Monday that its director, John Brennan, orchestrated an operation in southeast Ukraine over the weekend against protesters rallying in support of federalization.

Ukrainian security forces launched the operation to quash unrest in Slaviansk in the country's Donetsk Region against demonstrators who had seized local government buildings. At least one person was killed and nine injured in the clashes, according to local health officials. Activists said at least three people died.

“The claim that Director Brennan encouraged Ukrainian authorities to conduct tactical operations inside Ukraine is completely false. Like other senior US officials, Director Brennan strongly believes that a diplomatic solution is the only way to resolve the crisis between Russia and Ukraine," CIA spokesman Todd Ebitz was quoted by the Los Angeles Times as saying.

The spokesman declined to comment on Brennan's recent travel itinerary.

As is typical with governments around the globe, Russia included, travel itineraries of some government officials are not a matter of public records for obvious reasons. A fact that Russia is exploiting with the reports about Brennan being in Ukraine. They know it wont be confirmed, and every time the CIA refuses comment, it gains traction with more Russian state media.

It makes one wonder, since Russia had this info, why they did not bring it up at the UN Security council meeting. Could it be because they can't support the claim and that it would gain more traction left as a rumor?

I'm glad you said that because I'm experiencing the same thing. Twitter has gone all funny and I'm getting error messages and my internet is painfully slow despite having one of the best broadband packages around. It's all a bit strange but it could just be a coincidence.
