Also Friday morning, detectives filed search warrant documents in court that show what they found and seized when they searched Wood's home and found Hailey's body and other evidence.
The search warrant documents say Wood agreed to go to police headquarters but never asked why officers wanted to talk to him. Investigators say they saw blood on his shirt during the interview and smelled bleach. When police approached him after he pulled into his driveway, he threw a roll of duct tape back into the cab of his truck.
Police report they entered the house at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday after a judge approved a search warrant at 1:28 a.m. Officers did an initial search and walk-through and then waited for crime scene investigators and the FBI.
Deputy Greene County Medical Examiner Tom Van De Berg reported seeing ligature marks on Hailey’s arms near her wrists. Investigators also report finding a .22 caliber shell casing on the basement floor of Wood’s home.
The search warrant also says police found a 3-ring binder with pornographic photos of young children. Officers also seized computers, cameras, 15 guns, 30 video recordings and a hat believed to have been worn by Hailey.
Court records indicate the floor of the basement where the girl's body was found was still damp with bleach - presumably used to clean the crime scene.
Patterson has said he would consider seeking the death penalty.
Wood had little criminal history, according to online court records. He pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in 1990 in Greene County and was fined $100. Wood also was convicted in 2001 for illegal taking of wildlife, a misdemeanor.
Friends said Wood is an amateur musician and avid hunter.
Police department spokeswoman Lisa Cox said there is no indication that Wood is a suspect in any other violent crime involving children.
According to the search warrant documents, at least three people told police that they saw the pickup drive back and forth along the street before the driver stopped to ask Hailey directions, then he dragged her inside the vehicle. One homeowner gave chase on foot and another in his car.

a little girl was murdered by an individual whom does not deserve to live amongst the rest of us...
I wanted to quote this sentence so that it can be repeated again. This is one of the very few cases where I believe the death penalty should be implemented and carried out sooner rather than later (if proven guilty, of course). And no plea deals or appeals either. Ever.
These type of people should never be allowed back into society, and are a waste of space and money in the prison system.
