Short Sentences, Big Meanings Writing Contest [Feb2014]{WINNERS}

Good afternoon folks,

This month were starting extra late, which is my fault. We've been doing short stories now pretty much month after month. Normally the winner of last month's contest would be choosing the theme, but I wanna throw in a curve ball for this month.

This month's contest is for POETRY.

Any kind or flavor you want, any length as well. The ONLY content rule is that it MUST be about one of the following:

1. The ATS Community
2.Valentine's Day

Rules Of Entry

The contest will run from Wednesday 02/12/2014 to Friday 02/28/2014 at Midnight. Any submissions after that date will be disqualified. A period of voting after the closing of the contest will also be provided.

5 days of voting.

All T&C's Apply

All entries MUST include [Feb2014]in the title.

All entries must be linked in this thread. You must include [writer] [non-writer] in your submission post within this thread.

There is no minimum or maximum character count.

Only Poetry Formats

3 single submissions per member. (No Part 2's)

There will be 3 winners among members who already have "Writer" status. They will be judged separately from all other entries based on stars and flags received.

1st Place -- 5 Applause & next contest theme choice.**
2nd Place -- 3 Applause
3rd Place -- 1 Applause

There will also be 3 winners from the non-writer category who will receive the following:

1st Place -- 3 Applause & Writer Status
2nd Place -- 2 Applause & Writer Status
3rd Place -- 2 Applause

Scoring

Flags will be worth 2 points each.
Stars will be worth 1 point each.

*Stars for subsequent posts (ie. additions to the story) will be worth .5 stars.

Hopefully one of you can make me cry this month!

One of the themes I see that we could choose from is "Valentine's Day". I was wondering if it has to be a lovey dovey poem or could it also be a loss of love poem? I find it easier to write about sadness, yes I know I'm hopeless LOL

Anyway, guess I'll get the ball rolling

I've been doing them for about a year now.

I'm sure if he ever feels like it he'll go ahead and make up a contest or participate .

He's got more creative projects on the go in RL than I can count so he keeps quite busy.

if you have an issue, take it up via PM or the complaints forum.

It makes NO difference what 'other' threads exist with worse content. The rules are QUITE clear and you are RESPONSIBLE for YOUR own actions, not the actions of others.

[Feb2014] untitled Haiku

Well this is neat... poetry contest...
And of course words would fail me now. I will try though... I think. I guess I wanted to post here so I would remember ..and see other people's entries. I've already read one and it was really good. Can't wait to read more.
