M/F OstendSpirit - SelimSan - Beeching / Aliaga

This is a pretty cool vid I thought about sharing.

Apparently the ship is destined for scrap. So instead of docking it they beech it.
This is a video of the ship being beeched at the scrap yard.

It's pretty scary and the mini tsunami is impressive.

The M/F Ostend Spirit, also known as the MS Pride of Calais, was a ferry that spent most of its life doing the shuttle route across the English Channel. She'll now be completely broken down, piece by piece, for scrapping and recycling.

Brilliant vid, nice find. That is some seriously skilful piloting. Thanks, just what I needed on a dull rainy nightshift. Notice how the bow wave cleverly moves the smaller craft out of the way. The sheer force of that kind of tonnage being beached at that speed is breathtaking.
