Welcome to the Winter Olympics 2014.

This is one of the main streets, only half a mile of the Olympic Park.

Unfinished hotel.

Trying to cover the reality with fence.

I'm sure when it's covered in snow it will look better? When's it meant to snow?

That may as well be Detroit when they hosted the Super Bowl. Looks almost the same. They spruced up the downtown area and rounded up the homeless for the week end. Should we be shocked that Sochi is doing similar actions?

1976 Montreal Olympics. Pretty much the same, half the stuff wasn't really ready.

I don't think this is different than any other games, really.

But I might be wrong.

Where's the snow? Putin is going to lose his mind if he can't bribe someone, somewhere (or something) for snow...

In Russia, organizers of the 2014 Winter Olympics have called on dozens of shamans to pray for snow. But the centerpiece of the Olympic snow strategy is man-made: a massive system that features more than 550 snow-making machines.

They have to make their snow this year

This is what remains of the 1984 Winter Olympics.

I bet dollars to donuts thats what will happen in Sochi. It's just amazing how much money is wasted on hosting the Olympics. So glad the US didn't get this Olympics.

Absolutely. We had the Olympics here in Montreal in 1976. We (the province of Quebec) finished paying for the Olympics Facilities in....2006.

really doesn't look much different than around here. except ours is leftover pollution from the early 1900's still haunting us. As a matter of fact less than 150 feet from my property line is a creek that was just listed as the most polluted in the entire usa. Say good bye to our property value it just halfed over night. I am so effing sick of getting boned over.......
