I got 13 out of 13 correct, but it really wasn't that hard. Then again, for someone with only a Texas high school education from 1975, I guess I did alright.

What is scary is that 40% of college grads got the following wrong:

Electrons are smaller than atoms. Is this statement...

You correctly answered "True"

Lasers work by focusing sound waves. Is this statement...

You correctly answered "False"

Or that only 20% of the people questioned realize nitrogen is the main component of air. Oxygen being deadly in higher amounts.

Yawn.

13/13.

A quiz like this with political information would be interesting. I think many people would miss a bunch of the basics on one of those.

I'd be the first to admit that I would likely be too ashamed to post my results on a quiz like that... I should pay more attention.

Same for me here. The numbers of the samples are.. devastating, I guess.

If I had got any of them wrong I would have needed to burn my science degree and feed the shamefull ashes to my cat then kill the cat

A lot of people would get that one wrong. Most think it's mostly oxygen. Truth is it like 64% nitrogen, 22% oxygen and 14% beer farts.

Love that beer farts! Ha! You know, it seems to me that the highest percentage of people here are those of us that got 13/13. Does that speak for the level of education of ATSers in general?

Or maybe that this site is just full of geeks that like to take this kind of quiz? LOL

Ah, I got the atmosphere one wrong. I knew it wasn't oxygen, but couldn't remember which one it was for sure - hydrogen or nitrogen - my gut said nitrogen and I second guessed; always a BIG MISTAKE. I guess I should have cheated and used the Internet.

The others were all very easy.

13 /13 here too.

Not surprised that others in this forum also did well. Be interesting to either see a quiz on political questions posted here as another poster suggested or try this quiz in one of the political or chit-chat forums.

I mean we do want to conduct this scientifically...

Fun quiz - thx.

Just remember that like oxygen, hydrogen is highly combustible. Leaves you with nitrogen.
