Can you tell the best writer from the worst one, masterpieces of art from doodles, famous musicians from unknown ones, a genius from a degenerate? Take these quizzes to find out.

Thanks for sharing!

"Can you tell masterpieces from crap?"

Yes...but not by relying on what someone else--or popular opinion--tells me is either a masterpiece or crap.

As either Einstein or Hitler would say...It's all relative.

I could give you a long and rambling answer.
The short one is...45 years as a painter...

If I like it ... it's a masterpiece. If I don't like it .... it's crap.
My opinion is the only one that matters to me. Easy peasy.

ETA .. I took the test. I got a 75% correct.
I have to confess .... we have a membership at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
I've gotten a bit used to knowing what is considered 'art' and what isn't.

I like it FF. One that's stuck with me is 'I don't know about art, but I know what I like'.

So what was it? In the course of all those years you have seen all the paintings of the famous artists and could recognize them in the quiz?

That would definitely be part of the answer.
...but there are many 'give-aways' (too many to casually mention)...

...cont'd @ simus
'Masterpieces' are prevalent in the documentation of works considered important...those not considered so are not
because they are not on high rotation...so, the quiz, in effect is (as you allude) an exercise in memory...
The label 'masterpiece' can take into account many factors...historical context, execution, cultural significance...to name few...whether it is 'nice' or not, is irrelevant to that discussion.

the art quizz was easy because it states that the fake ones where made by the person who made the quizz.

so all the pics made using mspaint where likely to be the fake ones.

My talent is in knowing BS when I see or hear it.

And for now it's best I keep it to myself.
