How do people not understand it is Obama who unconstitutuonally tthreatened default and only Obama and the doing so to force congress to vote his way is unconstitutional!

Reagan never had a Republican congress.

Obama was forced by aa Republican congress thru a debt ceiling battle to reduce the deficit by 1/3rd not half.

Your side cant post facts

Current deficit ended at $800+Billion dollars this fiscal year.

Previous deficits were 1.1Trillion, 1.2, 1.2, and 1.4 Trillion dollars.

So if compared to last year's deficit it wasn't even 1/3rd reduced.

Strange not once did Reagan mention default nor did he threaten it, he argued a government shut down hurts Social Security beneficiaries.

Case in point....seriously? This is the most offensive type of comment when I post well articulated facts to back my thread and those facts clearly point to Obama having done what NO PRESIDENT has ever done and that is threaten to default on the US Debt.

Then people make baseless assertions that Reagan did it before, when he didn't.

And they ignore the Congress was Democrat during Reagan, it was Democrat since 2007, and the Republicans in 2011 FORCED OBAMA TO REDUCE SPENDING.

These people in my thread are garbage, they need to admit they are garbage, that they stink up the place, and kindly leave.

Why are we trying to rewrite what just happened already? Wait a few years and then try when it may not be so fresh in peoples minds. We know the GOP and DNC had come to deal long before the vote. We know the Tea Party made a power play and ruined the deal. We know the DNC started gloating in public about how the GOP has just shot itself in the head before somebody reminded them to shut up. We know the GOP poll numbers dropped lower than either parties numbers ever have in history. We know that members of the GOP quickly started turning on the Tea Party people. We know the polls showed the American people wanted a clean vote. We know the DNC armed backed by the polls played it smart and made no new demands and just wanted a clean vote. We know that was final nail in the coffin and the GOP made the deal hoping they could repair the damage. Obama and the DNC had no interest in a shut down or default. They much rather the focus would be the regular reports on job growth and the withdrawl from Afganistan. The GOP had no intrest either as they were desperately trying to rebuild the party afte the last elections beating. However the Tea Party people knowing the how poorly the were polling and knowing their time in office would not last beyond the next election made a move to beat the DNC and take over the GOP. It failed in the worst way possible. It will cost the GOP the house, any chance at the senate or the White House in the next election. Obama and the DNC will no doubt try and take the credit for crushing the GOP but, the fact is it was a self inflicted wound.

Congress has the RIGHT to dictate the Budget.

So pertinent to the thread:

Reagan was confronted with the Democrats not offering ANY BUDGET despite his willingness to compromise, hence his comments about the harm such a shutdown would cause. This had nothing to do with a Default on the US Debt.

Obama was offered CLEAN BILLS that would fund all parts of the Government except Obamacare which is a reasonable power of the purse of Congress, because of the harm a shutdown may cause it was even more reasonable.

Instead, Obama sent his goon (Jack Lew) from the Treasury, former COO (Chief operations officer) of CitiGroup (major bank bailed out by the Government...no conflict of interest here look away...) to threaten a default on the US Debt despite the constitutional obligation that the first funded item of the US REVENUE (not even the Budget) must be the DEBT.

Get it?

It doesn't even matter if a budget is passed or not, the DEBT is funded by the FIRST REVENUE, since the $US takes in per month is equal to the entire US DEBT interest payment, there is no way a default could happen constitutionally.

Therefore Obama is an unconstitutional lying tyrant.
