Although not yet agreed to in writing, the Associated Press is reporting that Iran will suspend, in full, its Uranium enrichment program as well as related activities in the development of nuclear weapons. In a report due to be out soon, the head of the IAEA, Mohamed ElBaradei, will likely outline further details.

VIENNA, Austria - Iran has agreed to fully suspend uranium enrichment and linked activities that Washington asserts are part of a nuclear weapons program, diplomats said Sunday.

The diplomats told The Associated Press the Iranians apparently dropped earlier demands to modify a tentative deal worked out last weekend with European negotiators and had agreed to the conditions.

"Basically it's a full suspension," one of the diplomats said on condition of anonymity.

This could potentially be big news, with all the talk of possible Isreali or US preemptive attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. If they do indeed suspend these activities, it will provide much less of an incentive for strikes, as well as ease the Isreali's fear of Iran obtaining and/or developing nuclear weapons. In a recent statement, Isreali officials expressed their absolute unwillingness to tolerate any Iranian posession of such weapons. A very good read was posted on ATS recently concerning the consequences of airstrikes on Iran and can be seen at the link below:

Hopefully Iran will not be using the same method of halting their enrichment activity as the one used by North Korea.

I am a bit skeptical that this will take place at all levels. They will probably outwardly stop their processing, but I bet that there will be some underground activity to continue.
