I myself, am a conpiracy theorist, and always have been, even before I knew what conpiracy theories were. I believe, that a person should always strive for the truth. The *real*, *actual* truth, not a nutjob conpiracy dreamed up by some ****er on his way to work/school/whatever. I know that the news are often biased, sometimes just pure BS, and sometimes they're ok, on some topics. But there are those, who have very different news from mine. They don't try to work it out for themselves, they go to a conpiracy news site, and trust all information there, like they call the "sheeple", who get their news from Foxnews et cetera, when in reality, they are no different, just using a different news site.
Here are some examples:
MarsOne conpiracy:

Don't go, it's a trap
There will be no trips to Mars.
TPTB have made a deal with the aliens to provide a certain number of subjects for medical experimentation.
Rather than the aliens abducting random people, the government will provide people with specific characteristics to meet the needs of the aliens. The purpose of this is that aliens have found that they can occupy the bodies of a certain portion of the population and need to refine their processes in order to populate the planet with
human /alien hybrids.
By entering the selection process to go to Mars, you are actually placing yourself at risk of voluntary abduction.
BEWARE

There was a site where a dude made a simple weather ballon, and launched it to 100,000 meters (he attached a camera onto it)
Here is the reply:

This are the first real pictures we have from space. All else photoshopped. All hubble pictures are faked, every vid from the ISS is fake, to make us believe we are in space. Maybe this is all photoshopped too, so we believe we have sent things into space. When you go fly on a plane they really take you to aliens for experiments. Don'y fly on airplanes because they will take you.

There are many more I could quote to you...
Here is a video:

I walked up a flight of stairs today.

I guess you could say I was on the rise.

*boom tish*

but then I had to giggle when someone mentioned how some people believe the matrix is real.

And I fell out of a window.

Insanity on the decline... Oh boy..

If you live a life of struggle, trying to make ends meet. While a suburb away a banker has just bought himself a new Porsche because he screwed some battler out of his home when he foreclosed on his loan, I think this might be why we have a rise in the number of conspiracy theorists.
Not nutjobs, just people who are p*ssed off and have had enough.
You dont need to be Einstein to see the gap between the have's and have not's is widening, and will probably widen a bit more before they find the straw that breaks the camels back.

Thank you for quoting my post about a Mars trip being a trap.
Perhaps I should have typed more slowly so you would realize how deeply my tongue was in my cheek while I typed that. LOL

Yeah but those same nutters who just lost their job/house/ whatever will go and call you a Marxist/socialist/fascist for saying that something should be done about that.

Whether it's a social justice issue or the news, you can't win with these people. I used to consider myself a conspiracy theorist, until I started interacting with conspiracy theorists. The media doesn't denigrate them because they believe in conspiracies, they denigrate them because of there "boogeyman under every bed" attitude, so when something truly conspiratorial comes up it gets less coverage. Yes, I work in media, and I did it to bring the truth to people and because I believe in honest checks on government. However it is difficult to check government when sources lie.

That said, I often find the most truthful sources are usually the ones that are voted out after one term.

I believe that theory is meaningless without hard supporting evidence, drawn from fastidious research, rigorous investigation (amounting to more than combining several other questionable theories), and the ability to collect, and perform analysis on, physical findings.

To often are rambling posts, based on nought but foolishness and ignorance passed off as a solution to the problems of one or another conspiracy. Right from the nutters who claim that they are the children of aliens, or the only person on earth with whom they communicate, right up to those who believe they can bring down the big money systems by any one of a hundred and more totally futile gestures, there are far too many folk out there who are either unwilling or incapable of properly interacting with their chosen area of interest, or those whose interest is serious, and yet consider themselves capable of commenting, often at some considerable length, on matters that they know nothing about.

And it has to be said, that there are plenty of people doing this on a professional basis. Greer does it. Collier does it, and so do many liars and charlatans besides. And it really doesn't matter if we are talking about government conspiracies against their people, UFOs, corporate conspiracies designed to lever money out of the terminally unwise, the people who militate the most publicly about these matters are often more interested in fluffing their egos than they are in the issues.

Personally I refuse to believe anything unless it's in conspiracy form. Then it's too dangerous to be ignored, no matter how far out it is!
