In another thread a fellow ATS'er asked what your favorite sci-fi movies was, and that made me think what your favorite anime series is.

Some of my personal favorites is

Hellsing (Alucard)

Attack on titan

Serial experiments: Lain

Another

Elfen Lied

So what about you, what mange / animated series can you recommend ?

I like Naruto, because of the "never give up" attitude. The positive outlook, and yes even his naivete, and foolish non-accepting of others negative views. Also, his ability to have others believe in him and his proving of everyone wrong who thinks that he cannot do something.

Yeah, it makes more sense in my head then on this board, but that is how I see it.

I am currently reading/watching Naruto
About a month ago, I downloaded all 9 seasons of Dragonball Z and spent two weeks watching all of the episodes.
I also like Full Metal Alchemist and Avatar, the last airbender to name just a few

For me it would have to be Bleach, Naruto, History's Mightiest Disciple: Kenichi, Gurren Lagann, One-Punch Man, Yu Yu Hakusho, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, S-Cry-Ed, Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball Series, Outlaw Star. That's all I can remember now off the top of my head I have a ton more.

That was the first anime I ever watched lol I hadn't realized how good it was till years later
but to be truthful at my age its starting to feel a bit strange waiting for a manga to come out like a kid on Saturday morning in his onesee and a bowl of cereal! except now its a beer in my hand hot cheetos in the bowl and in my boxers lol sorry for the visual. LOL my wife who is 9 years younger then me just shakes her head! but hell her generation listens to miley cyrus and dresses like her and thinks bruno mars has swag yo and anything disney is just amazing lol

I LOVED watching Yu Yu Hakusho (spelling?) with my son. Loved it more than him I think! And Airbender.
Those are the only ones I've ever really enjoyed. Naruto was okay.

Relatedly perhaps, I did enjoy Samurai Jack.

I will start by saying that I don't normally watch anime, but my daughter is very into it.
She introduced me to Mushi-Shi. It's amazing. The animation and music are beautiful and peaceful. The stories are very original and the english voice actors do a good job. Travis Willingham plays Ginko. He is a Mushi Master who travels the Japanese wilderness, helping people who are being troubled by the Mushi.
There is a live action movie which is actually pretty good.

Here is a clip with Ginko explaining a little about the Mushi.
