Air Canada 898 squawking Hijack/Military Intercept Request - Link

Just over Northern Ireland still on course for heathrow .. I think this flight is going to be just fine

I think it will be too there's no way they'd let it get close to any populated areas if it was hijacked, they'd Shoot it down first.

Flight AC898 is showing up on Heathrow arrivals still and it's over British airspace now so I would assume that unless there is a news block that this is thankfully just a comms error/malfunction.

If it squawked this over water they would never allow it to fly over the UK, they would try to force it down or shoot it down, I think this one has just been a wrong transponder code put in, which is suprisely easy if you don't turn it to standby when scrolling through from left to right.

Meh I guess Heathrow is always too crowded to not give you emotion every time something like that is happening.

Heathrows one of the busiest airports in the world, so it's not uncommon for planes to hold before they have to land. You could try checking out the live Atc for heathrow, if something's going on you might be able to hear something

I tend to get aircraft stacking over my house for heathrow depending on what time of day it is. I'm in Essex which is just east of London. Early mornings I tend to get the a380s a340s 747s 777s from Hong Kong and Dubai areas stacking over my house. Seeing an a380 banking at a slow speed amazes me how it hasn't fallen out the sky

Edit: doing work sucks!

I have been on that flight a number of times, my guess is one of their passengers took a bite of their inflight meals and lost his sh*t.

God I hate AirCanada.
