Mom Hummingbird Feeds Her Baby in Guy’s Hand

Hello ATS.

I just watched these two video's on Live Leak and thought I'd share them with you guys.

A man was feeding a baby hummingbird, found half dead on the ground outside his office building, when he noticed a worried mom hummingbird flying past his window. He opened it up and the mother bird started feeding her baby right away.

He's a very lucky bloke.
I can't even get em' to nest in the bird box outside but this...this just takes the cake!

Anyone else been so lucky?

Cool.

There's a hummingbird that sits on a branch and stares at me when I go out on my patio to smoke.

It started coming by about a week or ten days ago. Now most of the time when I go out to smoke it flies down and sits on a branch about five feet away and watches me smoke. It just stares at me. I've looked out the window to see if it's there when I go back inside and it flies away within a minute or two.

Maybe it has a nest or something near my patio.

I'm thinking of getting a feeder.

I was hiking and sat down by a stream to rest, there were some vines next to me, I looked over at them and there was a hummingbird nest with Mom sitting in it. A stop your heart moment. She was calm and just sat there, I did not move. The nest was so incredibly tiny and perfect, she had hung it under a leaf so she had a roof over her head, clever bird.

Yes they are so smart and beautiful, we certainly should never touch a baby from any bird, many will never even feed their little one again after we touch them. I wish humans could enjoy looking at nature without interfering unnecessarily simply for our fun.

Awwwww ... that was adorable! What a lucky little baby and what a good mom!!
