Is it possible that the age of Western free thought/speech is drawing gently to a close?

I'm not sure how to phrase the thought which troubles me in a single sentence, other than to ask the question of the thread title. There are two threads hitting ATS headlines today which really give a person pause for consideration when taken 'hand in glove', if you pardon the pun.

Firstly there's this thread, regarding the new NSA disclosure of http snooping which confirms what Snowden was saying from the outset. Then there's this thread, which discusses frank, open-handed information on 'Mind Control' - which proves that the US shadow government/front-facing political groups have been/ are still actively pursuing varied means of exerting specific, extended duration control over the minds of the citizens the government is supposed to represent fairly.

In the UK recently we had a 'special' on the BBC which related to experimentation in synthetic telepathy. We also learnt that 'esoteric' subjects are going to be censored as much as possible, along with the obvious candidate subjects of pornography and violence. Even the censorship, via official statute, of the last two subjects is questionable; the use of 'esoteric subjects' as a category of censorship can be easily expanded to include conspiracy sites.

You will think, read & watch what we allow you to.

That is, in essence, what is being proposed.

It's all being discussed openly, and barely a squeak from the masses.

If this stuff had been revealed forty years ago (IE - this technology revealed in that social climate) there may well have been riots in the streets. As it is, the millions who may fall prey to this technology will simply do as they always do, and claim that a person would have to be crazy to consider such a fool idea.

Even though the technology in its initial phases is already in operation against them, they may never appreciate the dangers of what is happening to them. They are at risk of being manipulated into committing violence, or succumbing to hypnotic fascist plots to lead them to the gas chambers/off the edge of a ledge, should this technology continue to be rolled out more widely than it currently is. Some poor folk already have been, on all counts and more, of that I am confident.

The gang stalking victims are often mocked and derided if they try to seek help or speak openly of their experiences. Yes, some were definitely mentally unstable - some may have had spiritual affliction; others may have been test subjects for the Orwellian cabal.

Good luck and God bless, I fear that the erosion of our freedoms may continue apace now that these issues are being addressed openly - and nobody much seems to give a hoot.

Instead I see more and more speaking out all the time online and sharing opinions on facebook with family and friends, so it seems that the media/politicians and the masses of people are not on the same page, and the PEOPLE DETERMINE THE ERA/AGE!

The mind controls are well in place through the media.

Suggestive and vague comments by politicians and subliminal injections are very common.

The vast majority doesn't really participate in ATS style forums.

Forums represent only a small minority of people 'in the know'.

The super forums like Facebook etc. and 'news' article comment sections are chock full of mind controls via live agents and sock puppets.

They have learned from the mistakes of the 'Eastern' style commies.

I dont think so. MOST of us enjoy all those rights, just like most of us were not exposed to radiation in the 50s to measure the fallout and just like most of us were not experimented on by Nazi scientists brought incountry after WW II.

There have always been people at the top able to operate outside the consitution outside the law answering to nobody. This is and was possible because only a small minority was affected, to not have to deal with a revolt, while the majority enjoys their consitutional freedoms.

Its the same today. If you are not on a collission course with a powerful person, you are fine, if you are, for whatever reason the patriot and victory acts can be applied to you. What changed is some people particulary those whom visit a site like ATS and take great interest in affairs like the one surrounding Snowden are becoming more aware of those instances, past and present, where the rights we all enjoy were suspended for some.
