I'm just wondering if pararescuers are involve in combat.Do they fire n punch their way through to rescue their package?

There was a thread on which units do u all felt was the best in the world.

to me i felt Pjs the top on my list because they focus primarily on rescue n saving lives instead of eliminating.

PJs played a strong role in the 'Black Hawk Down' incident in Somalia in October '93. They are fully combat trained Air Force special operators, with specialized training in securing downed aircraft, rescuing pilots and others, eventual demolition of the aircraft, and of course advanced emergency medical technique.

PJ's are largely unsung heroes. As far as special operations forces are concerned, they are overlooked by the public, yet highly coveted by the military.

You can find out more info than you can handle over at

www.specialtactics.com...

Its pretty much the accepted authority on PJ's on the web.
