There Is Something Intrinsically Wrong With America

Very good insight Heff. I think we are getting spoiled. We want too much. Everytime we want something and we get it, we raise the goal post higher. The things we have in our lives today were above the dreams of our grandparents. many of us live in a state of plenty, a place similar to heaven and we think it is just normal to be that way. Most of our parents had to work hard to live and to supply food and shelter for us. The homes we lived in were homes, not castles. Most people did not desire a perfect yard, they did not need a high priced car. They worked and saved and bought a car with cash, no loan. They had to put down fifteen percent to buy a home and bought one that they could afford, not one that they paid on for thirty years and had to refinance every time they needed a roof. We have strayed far from reality. We have put ourselves in the hands of those who profit from our ignorance. I had let my children get brainwashed more than I was because I was too busy trying to build my business.

S&F for your articulated post. I became a fan of your posts for some time now. Great minds think alike; and I live in North GA as well! No wonder!

I have gone in depth to try and reflect the essence of why government is amuck on facebook and grew tired long ago; which is when I found ATS. If we could just sway ALL American's to realize that their lack of posture in the system is why the system became so intrinsic. If it were up to ATS I am sure we could put our heads together to make a difference though, rather than preaching to our choir here because it seems the majority are on all on the same page here inside of ATS, change is due! Lead, follow or get out of the way was a mantra I had when I was a rabid capitalist. No matter the economy - that statement stands in my mind seemingly no matter the situation.

Thanks for bringing even more clarity. What will be the true tipping point?

Actually, America started off as any and everything but a free land. 'America' was formed, founded, and built from the ground up through the genocide of one race and the enslavement of another. These are inconvenient truths, of course, that don't make popular topics at dinner parties.

Only in the recent history of this country has it gradually moved toward fitting the definition of 'a free land.'

There are quite a few people who see the truth and are not afraid to name it.

Honestly I am not at all following.

I cannot think of a single thing that would get one banned from ATS wholesale - if phrased in accordance with the rules and community standards. I am aware of the subjects that people sometimes gravitate to regarding this subject... maybe blaming the criminalization of drugs, certain ethnic groups, specific familial lines, etc. None of those things are off limits if they are stated in a manner consistent with the T&C.

Even if you are not working for a corporation; they have become pro-money anti-humanism. From GMO/Monsanto, big banks and over priced fuels when we have the ability to generate our own or can pay dearly to buck their systems.

As Jack and Janes gulp down Lattes and suck down suds in the evening to wash down their hormone soaked meat while soaking up the gospel of cable and MSM. Little do they know how their actions will be the beginning of the bane of their existence.

It takes just a moment, it may not be anything truly profound or it may be cancer but eventually a big dose of truality is beckoning at their heels. Eventually America will wake up and it will be just in time or it may be too late. After we have fortune 50/100 corporation goods running through our veins - speaking from someone that has mercury in my teeth, joints degenerating rapidly for no reason causing the need for titanium plates and screws in my spine where I can't take a step without synthetic meds forced by our maligned medical net for the those yet deemed disabled known as Medicaid. A joke indeed - the bigger joke is when we all seemed to be gaining on living the dream to some extent our reality is that we are slaves. Sadly it was not "our" dream, it was the Jones'! .

As another post stated families becoming over mortgaged and over extended without the ability to take care of their "house" which would never be a homestead was a huge hiccup in the chase. People buying houses in the same format as a car lot of buy here pay here. They want to take enough to keep everyone in the system of capitalism which they renamed as the dream, living the life. Only to have the economy limp along and foreclosures were more common then children safely riding their bikes. Now little has MSM allowed Jack and Jane to know that their are many buying into America from foreign lands bringing in their own dreams where many have hated our ways for far too long. Before I digress; that thought should linger because everyone wants a piece of American pie. Amnesty will bring on more drones for THE VOTE and we may become out numbered.

actually you didn't come across like that. I originally read half the op, posted, and finished. good post. wish a peaceful or political solution is possible, but those who are in power will not allow that.

Yet another great thread, Heff. S&F! I, too think that the country has something wrong with it. I think that the problem is that the multi-national corporations have taken control of the government and the politicians. Instead of "what can I do for my community?" it seems more and more that the politicians ask themselves "what can I do for my wallet?".
Another problem is the media. It constantly bombards people with the most mind numbing crap anyone can watch and rots their brains. One example of this is "reality TV". Here you have show after show of quacking jackasses that act like total a-holes toward each other. People see how they act and think it's alright to treat each other like crap, instead of acting with civility or decency. Also, instead of discussing real issues, they drone on and on about the nonsensical garbage that they watch day in and day out. They even argue about it. I think that this is the plan; though.They don't want people to actually think for themselves. They don't want people to realize something is wrong and discuss real issues. They want to keep people divided so that they're easier to control. Who are "they"? The media, of course. As you can see in this thread, there less that ten media corporations. (Thanks to LIVEFOREVER8 for the excellent thread). They control everything you watch on the idiot box. Besides the crap, all you're apt to find there is propaganda of one sort or another.
Also, as George Carlin said, the fault lies with the people. Take these misguided folks for example:

We must be involved in local politics, local government and local community.
Voting for our favorite idiot in chief once every four years is not enough.

We must raise and teach our kids instead of allowing them to be programmed by TV and the internet.

We must work with our neighbor to promote understanding and cooperation within our communities.

We must stop sending our hard earned money away from our towns and cities by only purchasing from big box stores and chains. We have to rebuild local economies with small business and support those businesses because that's where most of the real jobs come from.

We have lost control of our lives because we have exported control of our lives to Washington and Wall Street and Hollywood.

One side needs to give a little and allow some change and the other needs to stop blindly destroying everything they can in the name of change.

Of course this isn't all that could be done but I think it's a good place to start.

About the poster who was talking about Americans being dependent on "free money"...

What do you mean by "free money"? Are you speaking of the grants that help fund a bright mind to go to college? Are you talking about servicies that can get me a job, funded by state and federal government?

I read all responses up to yours. I agree with you on all points. common sense and personal rsponsibility is what your talking. The only way to ive and progress.

Personally I will also add adaptation and anticipation of up and coming trends if you want to stay in front of whatever comes your way in future times.

Very respectable post and ideals IMO. When I was young I was more than happy with America as a world leader, but nowadays, it couldn't seem further from the truth. And that's a shame, the heart is there...it always has been. Just not the....everything else. That comes across on the world stage :/ I don't want you to revolt and hurt each other but you really must end this monstrosity that is the US Government. The most untrusted group in the entire world...we can't back that.

IMO, it's a cultural phenomenon; when arrogance, ignorance and a misplaced sense of values is viewed as being macho, tough and masculine...Houston we got a problem!!!

Rome fell but Italy is still with us. The British lost their empire but we still have the UK. Japan lost their empire but they are still an industrial powerhouse.

One day Americans may wake up to find that America is a country like all the others. More local than international. Less burdened by pretensions and grandiose postures. Americans may one day realize that the rest of the world is not preoccupied by America and does not intend to bury it. When they do, the day of the psychotics will be over. America will no longer have to elect scaremongers into office.

I sincerely hope that a fall of some kind is not required to bring about this change. There is no need for a fall. There is need for recognition of reality. America won the Cold War.

The world doesn't hate America. They hate American interference. They are in fact becoming like America.

America needs to learn the difference between capitalism and fascism. Capitalism is not America's problem. Fascism is. Fascism is government by stakeholders (corporations, pressure groups, NGOs) as opposed to government by citizens.

Think the mirror used to see the flaw is called TV. All those negative things you mentioned are Media fueled crap.

Unlike our grandparents, we cannot think for ourselves. We will pick the Media model that mostly captures our attention and blindly follow them and their inflated cause.

Our grandparents stood up to corrupt corporations and won. They got better labor laws that we all are thankful for.

We need to stand up to corrupt media, not government. The root cause is the media. Fix that and trustworthy government will follow.

Also need to stop blindly following those who preach hate and fear.

The thing everyone needs to remember or begin to realize is that we are all stuck in this game willingly or not, and continuing to feed the cancer.

The only thing left to do is to remove the tumor and build upon what is left.

Unfortunately, our American society is more like Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and is spread out all over the body of our nation.

So I guess there is a new plan so I will switch to a different metaphor.

It is like owning a truck with a cracked head that you bought for $1000.

Replacing heads can vary from close to or well over the amount you paid for the vehicle, depending on if you went to a shop or replaced it yourself.
The best thing to do is to drive it until it breaks down, and buy a new one with the money you saved as well as the money you get for parting out and scrapping the old truck.

Damage control.

There is no hope in fixing America at this point is what I believe. Hopefully I am wrong!

I do my best to wake people up most days. But, I'm giving them MY vision. I can get them to see and agree for a short while at least. However, I am fully aware that there will be a very large group of people that will always dislike me and what I stand for. Until I can find enough people and product to leave the grid, I'm stuck in this mess no matter how loudly I sing. I see fundamental division that prevents us from living cooperatively. These differences are ancient. They're not likely to change soon.

Why has nobody commented on the hand sign in the carlin photo which is an obfuscated 666 and it's applicability to the thread at hand? Evolution has taught this nation and the other western nations that mankind is no different than a beast. You see and hear this comment daily in the media and multiple times on ATS. Beasts, like my dog, do whatever their biological drives lead them to do, whether that be sneaking into the cat litter tray, trying to jump my child or shredding the remote control to bits. Our society is filling with liars, cheats, thieves, murderers, rapists, porn addicts, drug addicts, child molestors, groups who are demanding to teach our little ones that gay sex is a valid lifestyle, groups who are pushing the redefinition of pedophilia as a sexual choice....Beasts act on the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes and when a human, pride. With zero to little regard for the wake of destruction and misery caused to anyone else in their choices. Those who want their sex anytime and anyhow kill their infants because of that choice and demand that anyone who stands up in righteousness pointing out not only the cause but the way out is but labeled a bigot and intolerant person. There is no future for lands who give themselves over
to the flesh because all they do is seek to silence the righteous in a perverted attempt to get rid of any feelings of guilt so they can carry on doing what it is that they love to do. Carlin would have you revolt and die, Jesus Christ would have you saved. The old creation died 2,000 years ago, and it is that world that is now rising in its one last attempt to create another city and tower. It can do so as the bricks, us, are fired instead of filled with the Holy Spirit. Be convinced that the origination of our problems is within us, yes, but don't be fooled into thinking that there is any fix outside of God's grace. Be convinced that our nations have been indoctrinated to love sin and the very things that would destroy and fracture us by the very same enemies who did it to Israel, put in scripture for our learning and protection. It's all they did daily as their media mocks faith in Christ, mocks righteous behaviour and installs the very qualities and loves that Our God tells us will only lead to our deaths and the wonton death of others. Carlin is mocking you in that photo as he gives partial truth - 666. If he wanted you to be saved, he'd tell you the full truth - everyone has the mark of the beast and we must overcome it through the faith of Jesus Christ. Follow Him. Pick up your cross and crucify your flesh nature. That very flesh nature that is exalted in the serpent paganism and heathenism flooding our lands.
