Need help IDing strange critter in the lower Appalacian foothills

I'm not discounting anything until I get some hard evidence, but so far she hasn't seen it walking bipedal.

That's actually not surprising... my son is at work or out being a boy most every waking moment, and I am either on a job, at school, or in my shop. She, on the other hand, spends a lot of time gathering food for her animals outside.
