Not intending to make a minimalist post, but I just found this picture to be breathtaking, and thought others might as well.

And as a baseball fan, I cant help but love the juxtaposition.

Great picture. The Black Forest fire is 15,700 acres. The Silver Fire in New Mexico is 21,400 acres, 0% containment and I'm breathing the smoke from it for a week now... Bad season...

Do you know that baseball is based on the English game of "Rounders"? Played by British schoolchildren and mostly by girls:-

Yikes. That satellite shot is amazing!

Whenever there is a fire in the columbia gorge (which is every year) and the east wind gets going, it absolutely kills me. that smoke aint good for ya

I saw an interview with a photographer firefighter who says this fire is totally kept alive by wind and will burn out on its own when the wind dies down, thus runs along the ground. This picture supports what he says. Impressive photo, OP.
