I like it but despite what the web fury is now going on about it is highly unlikely they would copy all data, more likely similar to the old Echelon system they monitor for key phrases and word's such as "Jihad, Conspiracy, Corruption, Monitoring, Bug" e.t.c. but the mass of Data that they are having to sift through would mean that human operators would probably by now have been replaced by highly developed AI programmes with the sole purpose of detecting specific type's of data and the bulk of there storage would most likely be aimed at the area's were foreign threat's and domestic threat's were detected.

It is not the gathering of the DATA that is wrong but rather whom has access and for what purpose.

In the old echelon system that predated the modern internet it was telephone and radio communications that were intercepted and due to the great amount of raw data there were computer systems as far back as the early 1980's with advanced speech recognition software that would detect the key word's and phrases as outlined above, information stream's with these in recorded would then be past to human operator's whom would make the necessary judgement call and highlight the possible suspects for more targeted surveillance.

Believe me the Idea the stasi were the most watched is a load of bull, the above is true about the level of technology used in the 1980's so therefore you must ask yourself what do they have now and are there actual AI programmes performing he monitoring.

In the right hand's it is essential even though we do not like to be watched but when you realise it can be used for good the problem is whom is using it and why are corporation's allowed to do this when they have no moral or legal right, give it back to the oversight committees and make certain there members are above corruption.
