As time passes, I am getting a very strong impression that Chris Di Bona's explanation was not necessarily up front, and that I may have bought into some hand-waving.

I don't know for sure one way or another, but I'm beginning to smell a rat in this story, and as such, may very well be due for a serving of crow.

I think Google has some 'splainin' to do.
