First of all, as people have pointed out, thee are several threads already on this.

Secondly, while this testimony was new, the story of Paul Hellyer is not new at all. It has been known for several years that Paul Hellyer is a former Canadian Defence Minister who believes in alien-controlled UFOs.

HOWEVER -- as Hellyer has pointed out, he is not basing his belief of secret knowledge he gained as defence minister (i.e., he is not "blowing the whistle" on aliens or disclosing anything). He has said many times in the past that his belief is a personal belief, and is based on the same information the public has.
