Haha I think it's funny that people think it's odd that in the 60's they had plastic bags and paper towels.

The father and sons find a hole in their backyard. The sons lock the father in it so they can go do something fun. The dad starts freaking out in the dark hole, finds a light switch by accident, and the lights go on. It ends up being a totally pimped out bomb shelter with swank 60's decor, music, alcohol, classic Playboys, food, etc. So the dad keeps sneaking in there as his private getaway.

Buuuut, I wouldn't call that "fully stocked," unless there are other pictures. More like almost-bare cupboard.

It's the best, Phage.Take a 2:1 mix of that and lizard urine and
mix it quickly into a paste. Better than five minute epoxy for the
cracks in the concrete from being a little too near G-Zero.
Got to move fast, though. If the lizard found your Pabst Blue Ribbon
stash the stuff will indeed set up in three minutes from the acetone.

Coffee, booze, sleeping pills, and multi purpose food! Clearly this guy was a nuclear engineer, and not a rocket scientist.

Gees, they should clean it up and restock it with new food. If I built a shelter in the fifties, I would have had something to barter with in there also....Gold and silver and also copper. I would think there would be ammo down there, the guy would keep the guns in the house though.

what would you do with it .. cuz' there is NO way I'd eat it, even if I was 1960~! Could have been TVP or even Spam-like food..
