I have cast aside my innocence,
A construct of my mind,
I have shucked my shell for you,
I have no place new to hide,
I am open down to my core,
Where the soul resides,
Study away come what may,
And find what you will find,

So read now the rings of time,
Forged inside my bones,
Absorb now my history,
From within this fleshy tome,
Sift the data in my marrow,
Know the truth in chemistry,
Feel the substance under finger,
Knead at the bread of reality,

You have seen my darkest inside,
You have known my deepest pain,
You have had my heart in your hand,
And who knows,
You may do so again,
I ask only that you consider,
Allowing me a sign,
Of wether I might be allowed,
A home in your heart and mind.

Thank you for taking the time to read it, and to comment on it as well! I also find poetry a necessary element of living, and its nice to hear from one who feels the same way.
