What 1987? Those guys didnt even see combat. What "ass kicking"? You cant even call it a "skirmish"... name-calling at best. Some mothers got offended - thats all.

They withdrew from warning and troop deployments over the border by India ..

Regarding the pak-fa vs su-35. Well first they're not in the same class and second the su-35 is available right now while the pak-fa is only for 2016 *best scenario* - the early bird catches the worm.

The Air warfare coudn't make a Game changer .India had variety of AAD functioning allover near the border ..In case of Facing Su 35 our Su 30mki will beat after all pilot's Stactics and India's A2A missile is combine of 12 types and brought allover from the world ..So throwing a Squad of Su 30 Mki with 12 variety of A2A may be a damn to Chinese

As far as nuclear capabilities - Well both have it seriously? Is everyone obsessed with nukes now? But regarding that, well China's capabilities makes India seem like a child's play - its not even fair to compare them.

I don't know what's your claim about Nukes ..India have thermo nuke devices if we have no choice Sure Nuke is final option

If anyone takes into account and Indo-China war and refuses to include a second Indian front with Pak, then that person does not deserve to even discuss geo-politics. One to one, India might give China a serious stalemate, but in two front scenario it would be tough.

latest warning to Pak
Even a midget nuke strike will lead to massive retaliation, India

If we face two front war ..let me allow to say WW3 is started by China and Pak ..Surely we get help allies like Israel, Japan and US too

Two front scenario will be overwhelming for India. If nothing else, Indians should make China specific defense pact with Japan and US. This means in the event China fights with either, all the three will come to each other's help. This will not offend Russians as they do not have any pact with China and are losing land to Chinese encroachment every year.

correct.. we already making some partners to counter China

Manmohan extends Japan trip, sends a strong message to China

Interestingly, several Indian foreign policy experts maintain that Singh should, in fact, have had a telephonic conversation with Abe by now over the development at Daulat Beg Oldi in eastern Ladakh.

More important than the SUs is probably the new drone tech that china is itching to test - since latest studies have proven that china all of a sudden is probably the most advanced country in the world when it comes to drone warfare.

any links for your Claim sir ..I think US and Israel is lead in this Tech ..pls give some links to Chinese Drones I didn't get from google

You indians do not like think strategically it seems! Involvement of Pak will not only open a second front it will also invite lots of men and material from other Islamic nations. At the time when Indian Air Force is streched beyond limits, another one or two squadrons of F16s from Turkey or Saudi will be a game changer.

The Zionists could help us ..and we believe Russia too helps if multinational war over our Country

Guess your defense high commanders also think like that and that is why no solid preps for a two front war. Indians make pathetic military men and minds as seen from last 20 years of 'this and that' failures at the time of need.

Correct ...

Upadtes...over 21 days and Rolling on

Chinese incursion: PLA tents must go from Ladakh for Khurshid to visit China, govt says

Chinese incursion: Fourth flag meeting fails, China refuses to budge

Refusing to budge from the territory occupied by them, Chinese troops have asked the Indian forces to pull back first in the Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) sector of Ladakh where yet another flag meeting between the two sides has ended in failure.

the f**king govt still want diplomatic options to solve ..

“The Indian Army needs almost everything except courage Study of 1962 war

Times are different but once upon a time the Indians were the most war like and feared race on their continent which Alexander the Great found out the hard way.

The unfortunate thing about modern warfare is the biggest baddest group of men can be destroyed by some government sponsored geek sitting with a key board and joy stick..

A new war will be exactly that, "A NEW KIND OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION>

I still do not think there will be a full blown war between your two countries but stranger things have happen. Good luck and may cooler heads work out an agreement that will be (more or less) satisfactory to both sides; at least I hope so.......

All I can say there's nothing much India can do about it except agreeing to China's demand. The world at this moment does not concern much on this issue and India would lose more if they attack first as it would give China the excuses they need to stay there permanently and perhaps even increase its military operations with its strong economy as advantage. I think India should take it as a serious lesson and further strengthen its borders to prevent such advance in the future. Some consider it as humiliation but I view it as wake up call.

Well... Its not like India had a choice right? China did their probing, then India consulted the US, the US told India "too busy, cant answer", so they really had to talk with china. And china agreed. They got what they wanted "so... we can get in there since all you going to do is... talk. Great... come on boys, pack your stuff. Mission was a success, good job you all"

Well I told before that Commies do not have real guts and grits to carry one something major. However, is this a celebration time in India? many Indians will call for so.

This incident was a loser point for China though. Now if Indian minds are atleast half way as strategic, they would immediately make a China specific war treaty with Japan. This way any Chinese action on either will immediately bog them down in a two front scenario something commies do not play well. Japan also has defense pact with US so US is getting involved although indirectly but not invisibly. China specific point makes it easy for Indians as their better friends the Russians will not be offended.

Another point for India is to make strategy for a two front scenario with China and Pak. Even if it means increasing defense budget from 2 to 3% of GDP for few years. The resources should be more towards items that can be produced within the country so that added defense expenditures do not leave the economy but act as a boost in forms of more employment, use of extra industrial capacity and local resources. An example would be creating 8 divisions of crack troops who specialize in mountain warfare and are cross trained to use infantry, artillery and even armor tools. Even if this means reducing regular soldiers by 8 divisions and changing them to reserve status or something similar. Developing a mountain corps is in works but regular feature of such forces need to be upgraded. Resources should also be spent of creating a totally volunteer civilian reserves who have gotten 6-10 week soldier training and their skills etc. can be upgraded via online study material and fitness maintained by self efforts to be checked every six months. By 2020 India will be a very young country with average age of 29 only, so lots of human resources are available.

Indian program of Light Plane on F16 lines has to produce good 200-400 planes quickly to negate PLA's 300 odd J-9 to J-11 copycat series of Su-27s. If this is too much of problem, then India should buy new Su-27s or MKIs or even 35s or even F15/F16 advanced versions immediately. Even half way decent 27, MKI, F16, F18 can be bought for $25-40M and can pack some serious punch with constant upgrades and additions. No delay in Rafael program can be expected, need 2 squadrons right away even on lease or bought used from French Air Force.

Indian tank Arjun is no nonsense machine, very late but very advanced and modified. Comes a $1M cheaper than T90 and $3M cheaper than M1-A1s. 4 Divisions of Arjuns 125 each will be an added sharpened steel axe-hammer on the Pak front decimating them within a week. Armor alone can cut the Pak into two pieces threatening serious supply cut off to their forces fighting in North in Cashmir area.

Not to forget the nukes but don't even wanna go there for the sake of the humanity and peace. Although nukes bring more peace than imagined.

www.indianexpress.com...

ok folks.... we can all go back to sleep peacefully for the time being at least

The border stand-off between India and China in the cold plains of Depsang in eastern Ladakh ended on Sunday evening with both the countries withdrawing their troops to their original positions and removing the temporary camps. Express Editorial: A welcome end After the debacle of three flag meetings that were called by India to defuse the situation, the agreement to end the troop face-off — that had soured bilateral relations after a Chinese patrol party set up a temporary camp 10 km inside the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on April 15 — was reached after the Chinese side initiated two back-to-back flag meetings to discuss disengagement. The development follows consultations at the level of National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon and Indian ambassador to China S Jaishankar. While the resolution was reached diplomatically, the modalities will be discused at another flag meeting scheduled to be held on Monday to authenticate the withdrawal of troops. Sources said the Chinese side called a flag meeting on Saturday and their first proposal was that Indian troops should withdraw from their current position in Depsang, where they have pitched tents opposite a Chinese encampment, after which they could consider a withdrawal. The Indian side, on the other hand, stuck to its stand on Saturday that the process of disengagement should be a simultaneous withdrawal of forces from the site that is 10 km inside the Indian side of the LAC. Sources said that after the meeting on Saturday, the Chinese side again called for a flag meet on Sunday to further discuss the proposals. While details are not yet available, sources said the disengagement took place after both sides reached a mutual agreement on the matter. However, the devil would lie in the details as China has not given up its demands that concrete structures and fortifications that have been built by India on its side of the border need to be destroyed. Specific objections have been made to Indian positions in Chumar.
