Below is a series of highlighted snips of the same object at different zoom levels. Crowbar? Piping? You tell me. There seem to be many oddities lying around in this panorama.

And here's a wider view for reference of location so you can find the general area if you wish to go and see for yourself:

Thanks to Arken for his recent thread that inspired this one.

That is a very strange shape.
I don't even have a guess at what it is.
Really cool though!

This is the best mars rock space thread I have seen on ATS.
I have not seen a rock bend in shape like that before...It even looks a little like a bone.
S&F.
Wish I could just zoom over and bring it back.

I'm not seeing what you are, but I do see a dog bone as the top piece of your highlight.

Ha, you see the bone to, so I'm not crazy!

How do we know we aren't seeing the highlighted edge of a rock, instead of a rock bending?

Rock ?
There's no indication that the two parts of the "crowbar" are actually connected , it looks to me that they aren't and they are two unconnected rocks .
The handle part is not as long as the drawn outline makes it out to be either .

Your avatar has the best haircut ever!

- PS
A tubular U shaped rock? Explain a tubular U shaped rock. That just happens to look like a crowbar/pipe/bone. Please do.

Oh I know!! It's Mike Oldfield on Mars!!

Strawman arguments will get you nowhere, man. Get it? "Nowhere Man". Another Bruce Greenwood stitch in time.

Just pointing it out , The fish head looks more like a fish head than the crowbar looks like a crowbar in my opinion .

What would be really good, would be for people like you to actually learn about digital images, photography , perspective etc then this place would not have to SUFFER any more threads like this.

There is NO DETAIL in your zoooooooomed in image

I can't believe you guys are looking at pixels.

Actually I can.

You are zoomed in to the pixel level and you're expecting to honestly be taken seriously? Especially without 3d?

It just gets me every time.

I'll trump that with the half submerged "face" in bottom right ??

You should always (when possible, obviously) use the original images and do not rely on resizing the images with resampling.

This is how it looks on the original image, resized to 400%, without resampling.

I don't think there's enough information to say if it's one or two different objects, but the lack of shadow makes me think that it's two objects.

Considering the perspective in this image, there's no way a crowbar or anything else lying flat would look like that. The upper part is a separate rock, lying further away.

You know... I dismissed the "fish-head" posts as troublemakers, but now I don't know. A fish-head and a fishing hook perhaps? Anyway...

Yes Captain Pike I got it, Sir! (makes the salute)

I agree. Or even 3. I see a small depression behind the crow bar's head.

But the head is really weird. Reminds me of those bones on Mars I saw in another thread.
