Ok folks, these submissions I'm enjoying, but some of them do not follow the proper format.

Some of them also do not make the minimum 5 minute requirement.

Please see the example found HERE. This is the format that is being suggested and should be used as a guideline for submissions.

Any submissions that do not meet the requirements listed in the OP will be disqualified come judging. I will allow any entries to be edited at will however and then subsequently bumped for reading, for the duration of the contest.

Now mine was @ 5 minutes, could we get a ruling early on in order to make corrections if needed?

Here's my first entry:

The One Man Show

This is definitely a challenging contest this month.

The entries so far are great, and I can't wait to read the rest of them.

I'm going to have some of the staff who are well versed in radio read them and determine if they qualify for the 5 min mark. Along with my own observations about format.

I'll PM members individually with any discrepancies.

A humble thanks. This month will be quite a lot of work.

It is appreciated.

How do I link a MSWord document into a post here?

I copy and paste to a new thread. It should pose no problem though you may have to adjust the spacing.

Your entry must be a separate thread in the Short Stories Forum, which you can post a link in this thread to.

You must post the content in that separate thread, not just an external link.

This is actually the first radio drama that I've ever written, so I hope I added enough detail for everyone to visualize my characters and the scene.

I chose the themes of The world of 2077 and romance. I have been playing with the idea of writing steamy romance short stories ever since I read a news article stating that steamy, racy romance novel sales are on the rise. Anyway, if I wrote what I really wanted to write here I would definitely violate the T&C rules. LOL

I hope you all enjoy it.

It's entitled 'The Painted Pot' (which is another name for a geothermal, hot, multi-coloured mud hole).

Sounds like one I could engage... though I do wish that the scenario was left to the writer. There are so many possibilities beyond even those very good choices.

What did you have in mind? I'm not opposed to something outside of that, as I'm pretty sure we can tie it in.

Ok, so a particular submission has caught my eye.

The Painted Pot

This submission contains all the proper formatting, descriptions etc.. as well as being timed appropriately.

Seems like we have a hell of a writer on our hands, good luck in the coming month

Well, using the radio program thing... we could go back in time as well... just as one possibility. Who knows what would have happened had War of the Worlds turned out to be real or... if someone changed the fall of time. We might wake to a morning radio program today that we wouldn't recognize, lol.

Just a short wander down the garden path. Possibilities are always endless

Oh if you'd like to go back in time, by all means go ahead.

The Scifi theme could also be interpreted as a story in the 1950's for example, with an alternate time line or something of that nature.

I'm not opposed to that idea at all.

I am really drawn to this... haven't had something poke me in the ribs to write in a long time.

Looking forward to it quite a lot!

Well, I got the format, but still shy on time, I believe. The character count was 982 shy of a full post, but reading, to me, it goes too quickly. More filler? Ok.

Here's the second entry, 3 Days Away.

I see errors, imperfections, and the potential to nail one. Perhaps attempt three will draw it all together.

Thanks, tenth. You may have made up my mind for me not to take writing classes, so as not to be fouled up nor steered in the direction of someone else's way of writing.
