This new crater is really making a name for herself - well - that is if it's the one that's in the blow.

Amazing amount of ash/steam/smoke etc. Just amazing. I'm dreadfully sorry for the ones who're living downwind.

Holding steading at the top level. Still big explosions of rocks etc. Waiting to see the stats begin to go down again.

Finally calming down Let her sleep peacefully until the next time.

I don't know what she's building up to now - or if all the noise and (occasional) ash is a calm down - either or - she's still at it.

It's starting to clear at her base - I hope for pics - we'll see.

Today's activity was so quick, ramp up to finish; completely opposite of the paroxysm last week. Etna is fascinating.
I hope you are feeling better Tzavros. It's nice to read your posts again.

Terrific photos, Silo. Any word on how bad the impacts are from this lastest event?

Negative in the respect she's messed up the airport schedule which I'm sure makes many a people upset.

And, she's not really stopped yet today. Still noisy - though respectively not as much as before - and still ash output so I've still got my camera ready.

There were two 'quiet' ash emissions before noon, and a loud on after noon.

Not sure if she's getting up to something again - or...

wow silo...it looks like the ash cloud is coming right over you. you must be a certified adrenaline junkie to keep living there. the pics are sure cool though, I feel like i'm on the side of the mountain

Stunning photo's... I have just looked at the thermal and it looked huge... are these eruptions getting more violent as well as more frequent? It appears like that to me. Looks like it is subsiding now but an awful lot of ash....

Silo, I hope you're ready to get out of there, if needed.

To think such destruction - can also be the source of such incredible beauty.
