In 2000, a meteorite was found on earth. this meteorite was originally on the moon and was reported to have fallen to the earth from the moon. HELP.

I cannot find any research or evidence that the atmosphere on the moon is capable of displacing and projecting a meteorite from its gravitational field and accurately hitting the earth?

Nothing to do with any atmosphere.
Its just that the moon has been bombarded with rocks for all of its life, and some of those impacts are sp large that it can knock rocks off into space. Recall that the gravity of the moon is much less than earth.

After that, the rocks may float about in roughly the same orbit as earth, still circling the sun, and doing this for a random amount of time. Perhaps even a few million years.
Occasionally, one of those rocks may hit earth. Its quite random, not anything to do with accuracy.

Here is one random page on the topic.

Well, it's not like they just fall off the moon and hit the earth. They're ejected during a collision of some sort. You also get the occasional Martian meteorite.

This topic is being discussed right here, in the recently-ressurected thread: www.abovetopsecret.com...

Meteorites from them Moon have been kicked off into space by meteoroid and asteroid impacts on the Moon.

yah, right.
i'm sure that they will find that the moon rocks are simply getting stuck on the landing gear of the ufo's, and then they are dislodged during operations here on earth.

pff .. the moon has much less gravity than earth ... how do people make this stuff up?

Which part is it that you are having issues about?

That debris from the moon can achieve escape velocity after an impact from a meteoroid or asteroid?

Or that the moon has less gravity than Earth?

Do you mean a piece of Moonrock, or part of a meteorite that hit the Moon, and subsequently ended up on Earth after yet another Moon inpact?
