There are those who might consider the phrase obscene. But in the United States, the verb to "kick ass" - like the adjective, "kick-ass" - is widely considered appropriate for general conversation. Nowhere is this better demonstrated than in Kentucky, where a high-profile campaign has been launched to change the state's official slogan from "Unbridled Spirit" to "Kentucky Kicks Ass."

Thank you Kentucky for helping remove that red neck, backwoods country moron view of us by the outside world.

Now it will be replaced by our new more violent red neck image.

Yay Kentucky

The question that's burning my brain is: how will this affect the fried chicken?

What did the donkey do to deserve being kicked?

ahh. I get it. The unbridled ass was a bit too spirited?

I'd hate to be an equine in that state.
