While I do not agree with the response- completely over the top in my opinion- the question no one is asking is why did he feel that a toy gun was appropriate to bring to school? Why did the parents not know what he was bringing to school and disallow it?

The punishment is in no way fitting the crime but is there anyone that thinks a kid bringing any type of weapon to a school right now- real or fake- is not going to solicit an agreesive response?

This one is on the parents- sorry.

Police are overreacting but the parents could have prevented the entire incident.
