I think Sandy Hook is a stunning example of the very worst media reporting.. at the very least.
For that reason alone I and others love discussing it.

Unfortunately there are a few around here that spoil it for the majority by constantly derailing threads by posting stuff that is expressly against the terms and especially against the stance ATS is taking against SH posts. No matter what we think of the policy regarding SH we must all respect the terms of this great site.

I for one will admit to crossing the line and when I was warned/banned it was a lesson learned.
It must be a hard job moderating all these threads but I'm sure that a SH specialist could ban people and remove their inflammatory posts and so still leave valid threads going... and give those offending posters a proper scare with a ban.

My point is it seems easy for (I'm being a conspiracist here) a few dis-info people to come onto ATS and either derail threads with the most inflammatory theories.. or worse... start a thread in rational terms and then actively subvert it to encourage the worst in others.

The very nature of conspiracies is that everything could be a conspiracy.

That is the beauty of it and.... in the Sandy Hook case at least... the danger... it is proving an obvious danger to ATS and other media sites that encourage conspiracy theories. This case more than any other I have been aware of in the media is creating a very strange mix of emotions and actions and re-actions.

You can't stop the insane 'actors/owl/masonic' comments but you can at least ban them quicker and stop repeat offenders maybe. And just delete posts but keep threads going perhaps... especially threads over 40 pages etc...

Many of us sane people on ATS would like to discuss this in a sane manner and perhaps ATS should give SH a forum to do so as I personally an finding it hard posting to threads that get closed or 404'd for no reason of the OP or the best contributors...

Rant over.

Honestly I'm sick and tired of hearing how Sandy Hook was setup and blah blah blah. I think we had a nutcase who wanted to go out with a bang and that's unfortunately what he did. As heart wrenching as it is to believe. But to each their own and everyone has a right to their beliefs.

agreed, why take the easy way out and punish everyone for the actions of a few? isn`t that what people on here are always complaining about in the real world? Punish all gun owners for the actions of a few crazy ones?

why give a single person the power to cause an entire thread to be deleted?
people who habitually violate the rules should be banned, why fall into the trap of being seen as being ignorant by punishing everyone for the actions of a single person?
Deny ignorance,right?

It's very important to question everything. Especially anything reported by the MSM, who has not only been caught left and right with very serious lies and fraud --- but has also been found guilty of *creating* the news when there isn't any.

Question that official story, there's a lot of holes in every event. The media is a massive culprit, and in many ways I believe they cause shootings by sensationalizing the murderers and victims.

But damn, let's be respectful about it, right? We are talking about human lives here.

I'd also like to see more folks get some serious warnings over an entire thread being closed.

Exactly!
We can agree on that.
I want to know I can express my beliefs in a -place that won't 'disappear'...

The issue hasn't been "disinfo agents" coming on ATS to derail the topic, this issue has been the disgusting speculation/accusations against the innocent who were ruined by this tragedy and the posting of other innocent people's personal information.

Before I close this thread I'd like to also add that the RANT forum is not the place for complaints about policy.

Thread Closed.
