ISTANBUL, Turkey — A suicide bomber attacked the U.S. Embassy in the Turkish capital of Ankara, killing one Turkish security guard along with the bomber, Ankara Govenor Aladdin Yuksel told Turkish news media.

The explosion went off at the entrance used by embassy personnel and their visitors, after a lone suicide bomber passed through the X-ray machine, Turkish news media reported.

According to the article it is not know the nationality nor the motive as of yet. I wonder if this is supposed to be the big attack that Al Ciada threatened against the US the other day. There wasn't too much damage but authorities suspect that there is another devise and have cleared the area.

Of all places Turkey was the last country I would be expecting a suicide bomber. But possibly an attack for their influence in Syria? Who knows.
