Breaking 13 Minutes Ago

WASHINGTON - The FBI has begun investigating whether the Pentagon improperly awarded no-bid contracts to Halliburton Co., seeking an interview with a top Army contracting officer and collecting documents from several government offices.

The line of inquiry expands an earlier FBI investigation into whether Halliburton overcharged taxpayers for fuel in Iraq, and it elevates to a criminal matter the election-year question of whether the Bush administration showed favoritism to Vice President Dick Cheney's former company.

Now it's a criminal matter for Cheney/Bush? I do like the sound of that!

MA's investigations concluded with the recommendation for criminal proceedings last year. Will the FBI agree?

ATSNN has "investigated" the FBI's investigation in the past hour too:

Ahhh, excellent.
Now if we could just get ATSNN to quit bickering over debunked RNC defense positions and investigate the proof the IAEA Seals were in place on dual use explosives with nuclear weapons related applications over a week after the invasion, we'd have something.

First Exclusive

Second Exclusive

As tracked all day, but not on ATSNN.

I guess they have to run their exclusive first locally then the cable news runs with it all weekend, then we'll "be all over it" here.

PS - God speed to G-men prosecuting evil-doers. Thanks for the heads up MA.

Yes. Bush always involuntarily curved a finger inwards at himself any time he gestured during a speech as he described what his administration would do to "evil-doers".

Well how did I know who the thread starter was?

Why not investigate Clinton for the same thing?

Either you're psychic or you can read. I'll go with psychic.

Go for it.
I wasn't aware Clinton excercised favorable influence during his Presidency as the former head of Halliburtion. I missed that on his resume. One of the many pitfalls to not being psychic I 'spose.

Exercised favorable influence? Did I miss something? The investigation started today has already found Cheney exercised "favorable influnce"?

Or maybe someone should let the investigation run it's course before saying things like this?
