What if the NWO were to Fumble the hand off

What does everyone think would happen if the NWO were to recieve the go ahead from all countries and somehow screwed up the process (not that anything involving the government aren't screwed up to begin with) plunging not just one but all countries on the face of the earth into economic depression. What would the world do then?
