T'was the day before Doomsday
And all through the world

All the creatures were stirring
( the sky was darkened with wave upon wave of geese leaving the area and heading south a full three months late this year as compared to every other year since I was in grade 7)

But not at my place
(I was busy with laundry-- "Must have clean undies on just in case")

My neighbours were busy replenishing their stock
They wanted to be blottoed when the universe stopped

While I (in clean undies) and a popcorn supply
Waved up towards the lawnchairs as ISS flew by

I knew they had a deck there! to enjoy the show
Of all the frazzled humans scattering below

Survivalists hunkered in bunkers somewhere
Proud of themselves they had somewhere to go

Secretive, armed, alert, absent of fear
Relax, guys, sit back ffs and open a beer!

It's almost time now to let this 2012 forum fade
Unless the aliens land and contact is made

In which case I'll be online to watch the whole show
Just as sure as you will be, I'm certain, I know

In the meantime if Nibiru comes into sight
Someone PM me I may not sleep tonight

as many tensed their necks
Many laughed at the notion
while others knew not what to expect.

Some hung to their cellphone awaiting an alert.
Others hung by their keyboards twitting like twits.
A few danced with delight with danger like flirts.
The religious cowered with fear of hells open pits.

All I got for now. Time for me to go to bed and sleep through the apocalypse. See you on the other side.
