So.. if there is any specific EVENT that is supposed to happen on Dec 21st 2012, at 11:11am GMT (Greenwitch Mean Time, London)

In the U.S. that makes it ...
3:11am Pacific Time
4:11am Mountain Tima
5:11am Central Time
6:11am Eastern Time

check out this countdown clock for where it (supposedly) "happens" in your time zone...

Why should it be GMT and not the timezone that the the Mayan Peninsula is in, which happens to be CST for us.

been trying to tell people it's 11:12 not 11:11...

But that makes me wonder. Where do the exact times come from? They must be measuring something very specifically to come up with numbers so precise. How do they do that?

Which leads to another question.. Do they know the exact second?

could it be 11:12:22 ? 111-222 ...

6;11AM!!!! That`s too early I won`t even be awake then, i was hoping it wouldn`t be until the afternoon at least then I could at least have my coffee and a cigarette before the big show starts.
I`m not getting up at 6AM for anything, not even the end of the world, i`ll sleep through it and have to miss it, maybe i`ll catch the next one,I hope this isn`t a once in a lifetime event.

I'm just happy it's 6 am for me.
I will still be home with the hubby, not at work or the Christmas party.

I've wondered that myself.
But for some reason (probably because of the British Empire) we use GMT as the calibration point.
Posssibly it has some occult druidic significance.. with the leylines in that area.. all the megaliths etc... just speculating..

The US naval observatory measure it. I believe they changed it because of the whole 11:11 conspiracy/phenomenon, got people scared.

Just joking, they measured more accurately I guess.

Maybe that's why I keep seeing 11:11, 3:11, 2:11, 12:11.......on my clocks pretty consistently.Or not.

3:11 for me, so I'll be asleep when it all goes down fabulous. And if I make it through, I'm going skiing for the rest of that day!

ahah!

Indeed, the U.S. Naval Observatory now lists the official time of the 2012 winter solstice, when Earth's tilt is angled as far away as possible from the sun, at 11:12 Universal Time on Dec. 21. This has not stopped 2012 believers from focusing on the 11:11 time.

Source - LiveScience

I'm betting on something happening on the 22nd ... like a sucker punch... (last x-files episode says it's when the "aliens" fully mobilize into invasion) **cough cough false flag** cough*

but still fun to watch the countdown in slight anticipation
