Hey everyone,

I hope this is in the right place. Basically, I love ATS and am looking to expand my alternative news media sources. What website(s) do you frequently use or recommend? Currently, I use mainstream sources like MSNBC, CNN, and Fox (to get different perspectives). Then I use ATS, Reuters, and YouTube to find more alternative news.

What other alternative sources would you recommend?

EDIT: I recognize now that this may not be in the right forum, mods please move as necessary.

Cheers,
Cody

A few.

Also while there, look for their 'Friends' lists that have other sites to check out.

Could you recommend a site that is not cluttered?

This is one of the best IMO:

www.activistpost.com...

But most of these sites will have some clutter as the membership is free so they have to pay the rent somehow.

Think ATS...

Peace

www.bloomberg.com...

Alternative news:

www.alternet.org...

A brilliant watch group that ratted out ALEC:

www.prwatch.org...

A oldie goldie media watch group:

Here's a newer independent news website that I recommend. You can also sign up for their newsletter:

On the right, there is:

On the aftermath of the Fukushima nuclear accidents, one of the best is a blogger:

www.corporatecrimereporter.com...

Use the search box on their home page to find articles on particular topics. For example, enter "Fukushima" to see the interview with S. David Freeman, featuring his 25 year plan to phase out polluting forms of energy.

The following page contains links to 56 alternative news sources:

www.world-newspapers.com...

An independent weekly newspaper:

This site

What does it mean

has some WAY over the top news stories that you won't find at other news sources.

There's a good reason for that too; its all bunk made up by a writer by the name of Sorcha Faal. Its good if you like fiction but a waste of time otherwise.

If you find any story that sounds too over the top, follow it to its original source and if its this one, you know its BS.

It now appears that the once-prestigious UPI newswire has been relegated to the position of an "alternative" news site:

Open Secrets is a non-profit website which compiles information on U.S. Congressional lobbyist activities. Their director has been interviewed on the Bill Moyers show. See especially their news blog for updates:

Here are other links for alternative news. Gibiru, the first of these, is not just the best and more anonymous internet browser, but also an alternative news provider. Just click on their "news" button:

gibiru.com...

Then there's Project Censored. Their new edition, Censored 2014, is now available for pre-order:

www.projectcensored.org...

Bill Moyers, who started out as Press Secretary for US President Lyndon Johnson, as one of the chief apologists for the Vietnam War, has come a long way. Here is his own website. He also is featured on the U.S. public television website.

Some regional independent newspapers often report on important U.S. national stories, or international issues. A case in point is ChangeLinks below, which includes a July 30, 2013 story by Glenn Greenwald on our freedoms:

change-links.org...

The new Al Jazeera America website and TV channel has a comprehensive news summary on the recently announced closing of the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant. Their report was more complete than even comparable reports on this closing from the anti-nuclear community:

america.aljazeera.com...

Time will tell whether the Al Jazeera America approach to news is independent, alternative, or mainstream.
