Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney acknowledged Tuesday that the U.S. Fed’s easy-money policy is making life difficult for many Canadians, effectively boosting the Canadian dollar and making Canada-made goods more expensive—and less competitive.

I hope the Fed knows what it is doing. Sure destroying the value of the USD will hurt Canadian Exporters but isnt a strong Canadian Dollar a good thing for them? Wont other nations just turn to being Import based economies at some point? I know Carney says its an overall positive for Canada but is it for America?

But if the Federal Reserve devalues the USD too much it might risk its status as Reserve Currency. I cant understand why its a good idea to devalue the USD when other countries like China are trying to unseat the dollar as Reserve. Isnt the Fed helping them?

“It is in the interest of everybody on this planet that the U.S. and major advanced economies are growing,” Mr. Carney said Tuesday.

That sounds alot like what Nixons Treasury Secretary, John Connally said after the Federal Government decided to scrap the Bretton Woods system. He said, "The dollar is our currency, but your problem." Will the world really accept new rules from the Federal Government again? Countries are already starting to avoid the USD in international trade and worse still, many countries are moving away from the petrodollar set up. Why would consumers buy US products with their stronger domestic currencies when Asia is chock full of cheap products and holidays? Does the Fed have a clue what its doing? Im not so sure.

Scary times.

I've been saying this for months now. Just think, we are about to fall off the fiscal cliff and they'll keep injecting more money into the economy. They aren't stupid, they know whats about to happen. You better believe that as they lie through their teeth and say everything is alright meanwhile they are setting up their panic rooms for when tsftf.

The ultimate function of bond sales to remove currency from circulation, to reduce the money supply.

If that above statement is correct, then why would the financial leadership want there to be less currency per capita?

And insofar as the Fed is concerned... it is merely a branch of the global banking cartel... it will do whatever it can to ensure the "central" banking scheme perpetuates... and that we never EVER believe that anyone else should "own" money.

It's all borrowed anyway.... it's a royal scheme that keeps us as debt serfs.

There cant be redistribution of wealth, taxing the rich and now turning on zhe ole printing press is zhe evil too.

Its like you guys run your mouth about the economy, without knowing whats up and whats down.

If everybody gets to keep their profits (neither reinvesting nor spending), many of them even offshored, what would the alternative be to fiering up the printing press, to avoid a liquidity impass in the economy?

^^^THIS

And they also know that the system itself is completely make-believe. Just think about it for a second. We humans could live together on this planet, helping one another out, living in peace...were it not for the made up value systems/money systems that have been brainwashed into our minds that we cannot live without. We can, and have lived without such systems before. Everyone will die one day...and you cannot take your money with you. So what's the point eh? To survive? To exist on this planet as a money slave? Ah but that's for another thread
