Apparently, some Occupy Wall Street folks recently gathered in Times Square to protest Red Dawn’s portrayal of North Korea. They appeared along with the radical Marxist-Leninist group Workers World Party, a college representative of the Students for Democratic Society, and the Korean Friendship Association, which shills for Pyongyang — in other words, very bad company.

Apparently it seems a few people have adored Baby Kimmy and his Country(Overlooking the fact that people starved there on a daily basis). I wonder then if they love North Korea sooooo much why don't we allow them to go North Korea and see how long would they last.

And related video

I'm not sure what to think of N. Korea. The media and education systems make such an effort to demonize them, that it's hard not to discount the propaganda element.

I'm not saying I'm a friend of N. Korea, or support them, just that it is a country that I really can't conclude anything about because so little is known and what is reported seems to be done so with an agenda.

I agree that it can be hard to separate out the propaganda element.

I don't hate the North Korean people mainly in that they are even more brainwashed than we are. And they're brainwashed to hate us and our way of life. If you haven't seen the North Korean produced film "Propaganda" it is well worth the watch. It's a good view into how they view our culture. The sad part is that I found myself agreeing with much of the film's content-- though it was obvious that there was definitely some blatant cultural bias at work as well, aside from the expected bitterness from an old rival.

Anyway, while I can't truly hate the North Korean people for being poor severely-brainwashed masses, I have no love for the North Korean government. They pretty much define "totalitarian dictatorship." If you haven't had the chance yet, look online for a documentary or two about north korea, with footage from inside the country. It's pretty surreal. The Vice Guide to North Korea (available on youtube-- warning, foul language) was pretty entertaining, albeit not the most informative one I've ever seen.

(A) Please elaborate. watched the video...Occupy Wall Street??? Where?

(B) Red Dawn (remake) ...the original had the USSR invading the USA. With them gone, the studio then was going to cast China as invading, but then decided that the US Movie market was big in China and they didn't want to piss them off and wanted to make money there...so...who to cast as the evil commies? N. Korea!!

(C) I think you are confusing being anti-war...anti-demonizing a whole ethnicity etc. as "Supporting" North Korea?

See...I do support North Koreans...the people...who are being led by a second generation batsh*& crazy man. And I don't think casting North Korea as invading the USA does anyone...Koreans or Americans any favors.

It really would be nice if some people knew what the hell they were talking about

In the original Red Dawn the Chinese were US allies:

And anyone who sides with one of the most brutal dictatorships in the worlds is clueless-North Korea.

Confused? Was that in response to my post above...cuz unlike "some people"...I don't just make crap up...

As a Chinese viewer, I didn't feel any sense of relief because the invading army was from the DPRK instead of the originally planned Chinese. Distrust and misunderstanding between the US and North Korea are much worse than the mistrust between the US and China.

North Korea is still Communist and it is why we fought in the war between North and South Korea. I know someone who was in Intel then. He risked his life for sure. The reason why we do not win these wars is because the Elites including the Rothschilds and Rockefellers arm both sides of every conflict. They play this little game of Hegelian dialectic called "Conflict management".

The Communist Party USA and the neo Nazis marched with Occupy and I personally heard Occupy people spouting about "direct democracy" and toppling Capitalism. Bunch of commies running around that movement. I am not suprised one bit to hear this news.

Edit: I cannot even listen to more than a few sentences of these Commie disinfo people in the video. What a bunch of idiots.

The one guy is telling us the people of N Korea live in constant fear of US attack. If that is so then it is because the N Korean govt is spouting this kind of disinfo. The bs these people are spewing.

geez!!!!!

By the way, I hear one cannot find any dogs and cats running around N Korea

Oh darn. The Commies are at it again.

Welcome to America?
First Amendment Rights?

Everyone is allowed to have their say, even if they don't run it by you first for prior approval, and especially if they don't run it by you first for prior approval?

Am I missing something?

It was int there. I didn't even watch the whole thing, I was about to throw up over it, but in the first third the guy directly refers to Occupy Wall Street. Sorry you seem to have a selective observation.

I'll take your word for it, but honestly don't care. I know that some self-declared socialists attended Occupy wall Street rally's, but most of us have enough intelligence to recognize that the age old fallacy or..

A is a B, A is also a C
Therefore all C's are B's

So the guy mentions Occupy Wall Street...does that mean that Occupy Wall Street sponsored this nonsense? Or that if he is some kind of socialist wannabe...then Occupy Wall Street is "Commie"??

No offense...but that is just stupid thinking. The KKK attended Tea Party Rallies...was every TPer a member of the KKK?

Lastly...Red Dawn is kind of a stupid movie. Only Americans would fantasize about what they would do if invaded and occupied....Most folks around the world don't need to fantasize about that scenario...and for places like Afghanistan and Iraq...America is the villian. Movies like this really do make us look like idiots...but that is just my opinion.
