TV Advertising in the UK

Has anybody else noticed that the majority of TV advertising at the moment falls within one of the following groups

Payday Loans (1500%APR+)
PPI Claims
Injury No Win No Fee Claims
Gambling Ads


Seriously, is this what the UK society consists of now, toxic borrowing junkies, gambling addicts or those that feel they deserve to get compensation for one reason or another. No wonder UK Business is down and our GDP growth is faltering. It seems that the only succesfull businesses at the moment are the low life bottom feeders preying on the poorest in society. This country is going to hell.

Is it just me that believes that our government is purposely making life easy for these types of businesses in order to keep us all locked into a loop of debt so they can control us.

The foundations of Britain was built on the banking system so it is nothing new, TV just offers a new way to for them to do business. I tend to avoid TV now, the internet makes watching propaganda obsolete unless you like it of course.

But these ads are on TV all of the time, youngsters are growing up thinking these kinds of behaviour are perfectly healthy and normal. If our government wasn't so weak they'd have banned all of these adverts at least before watershed if not outright. But our government are idiots.

That's just hilarious. If I didn't know better I'd guess you were an American.

I think that the US society and the UK society has an aweful lot in common right now regardless of wether we want to admit it or not.

Pretty much the whole world is crippled financially so the reason you are seeing PPI claims, Pay day loans and such is because it is good business. They are investing vast amounts of money into marketing to target people that are on low incomes and are struggling this time of year - also notice that the majority of adverts on TV of this "genre" are broadcast midday (during work hours) this is targeted marketing - people without jobs sat at home, single moms sat at home, people just been laid off....this type of person is the ideal customer for them because they will struggle to pay it back on time and incur lots of interest which is where the profit is.

Its not a coincidence, conspiracy or anything other than good old targeted marketing.
