It is against the law for the CIA to operate domestically, except in narrowly-defined circumstances such as cooperating with an FBI investigation.
In private memos to the National Security Council, the OPD boasted also of having "killed" news stories that contradicted the Reagan administration's public position on Nicaragua, using tactics that included intimidation and character assassination of journalists. Using $400,000 raised from private donors, the OPD funded organizations such as Accuracy In Media, a right-wing organization that vigorously attacked journalists who criticized Reagan's foreign policy. In July 1985, the OPD itself helped spread a scurrilous story that some American reporters had received sexual favors from Sandinista prostitutes in return for writing slanted stories.
The CIA also owns dozens of newspapers and magazines the world over. These not only provide cover for their agents but allow them to plant misinformation that regularly makes it back to the US through the wire services. The CIA has even placed agents on guard at the wire services, to prevent inconvenient facts from being disseminated.
The activity engaged in appears to emanate from a source (government, party, group, organization, person) usually hostile in nature. The interest of the U.S. Government is concealed and the U.S. Government would deny responsibility. The content may be partially or completely fabricated, but that which is fabricated is made to appear credible to the target audience. Black activity is also usually designed to cause embarrassment to the ostensible source or to force the ostensible source to take action against its will.

The media discredited itself long ago and now it is controlled by Mockingbirds and Tavistocks. The Libya issue could bring this all to light because it exposes everything you allude to concerning groups like the CIA, FBI, NSA, etc. who are all busy spreading their lies through the press and paid bloggers. There is quite obviously a cover up and I do not believe the lies the are spreading about this. It is all about money and the price of oil. If the middle east is constantly at war they can keep oil up over $3 a gallon and keep their ponzi scheme going, and don't forget all of the money they can make selling weapons to both sides.

The newest version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes an amendment that would legalize the use of propaganda on the American public..
The amendment — proposed by Mac Thornberry (R-Texas) and Adam Smith (D-Wash.) and passed in the House last Friday afternoon — would effectively nullify the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948, which explicitly forbids information and psychological operations aimed at influencing U.S. public opinion.
Thornberry said that the current law “ties the hands of America’s diplomatic officials, military, and others by inhibiting our ability to effectively communicate in a credible way,” according to Buzzfeed.
