I always found this song pretty sad

But if you want the real stuff, the pure stuff, here is the most depressing song to make the most optimistic, happiest person breakdown and lose it, then this is the song for you

But Hurt by Johnny Cash is tops on any sad song list I could ever make:

Wishing Well by Airborne Toxic Event is also a pretty sad song:
(I forgot that they drop the F-bomb in this song so I won't link it)
