Israel in 'direct hits' on Syria targets

ISRAELI troops have fired tank shells into Syria, confirming "direct hits" on the source of a mortar round that struck the Golan Heights as tensions flared along the ceasefire line.

The exchange marked the second straight day that Israeli troops have been drawn into the Syrian conflict and came just hours after an appeal for restraint from all sides by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Seems to be a lot of anti-sematic opinions on ATS lately, but for the record, I believe Israel has the right to defend itself, especially in this instance. The Syrian Army have killed Turkish People along the border just recently from missiles that have ended up on the wrong side of it.

The sooner Assad is over thrown the better it will be. Bad enough the loss of life for the Syrian civilians.
