Are you responding to me? I didn't say anything about Obama running for a third term. Bush didn't have to run again to have angered so many people that McCain felt the heat. People will always see the next man (or woman) on the same party's ticket as a continuation. Also, I'm sorry, but you were straight insulting, I am talking about the republican-democrat 2 party yo-yo. Here you are insulting me, and I'm probably on your side.
Pride goeth before the fall is exactly what I said. My second sentence stated that Democrats benefitted from the backlash that the GOP created. I was trying to get people to say Kumbaya, and I am on the left. I voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012, but in 2009 when all the hero worship and Democrat pride swelled, I knew we were in trouble in the next election. I saw it immediately, and what happened? The Tea Party came to the fore in 2010. So instead of venting my frustration at the right, I want to be the better man. And if the GOP keeps abusing and name calling everyone who doesn't agree with them, the democrats might win big in 2014. However, if the democrats take part in the name calling sludge fest, the average joe in 2014 might vote republican. Because let's face it, most people actually believe that by electing some public officials, they can just wave a magic wand and fix the economy and everything else.edit on 11-11-2012 by AudioOne because: (no reason given)

In a desperate attempt to find someone less slithery and soulless (not to mention less Mormon), party members have lurched manically from one ludicrous candidate to the next, only to watch in horror as each wilted the moment they were subjected to scrutiny...Incessant pleas to the party's ostensibly more respectable conservatives to enter the race have been repeatedly rebuffed. Now, only Romney remains viable. Republican voters are thus slowly resigning themselves to marching behind a vacant, supremely malleable technocrat whom they plainly detest.
In sum, how do you demonise Obama as a terrorist-loving secret Muslim intent on empowering US enemies when he has adopted, and in some cases extended, what was rightwing orthodoxy for the last decade?
The core problem for GOP challengers is that they cannot be respectable Republicans because, as Krugman pointed out, Obama has that position occupied.
They are forced to move so far to the right that they render themselves inherently absurd.

This reminds me of a short discussion I was having with my U.S. history professor after class the other day. I was happy to hear that at least someone agreed with me when he called Obama moderate. This is why I just cannot grasp why so many republicans are so butthurt over the election, it could be much worse for them, a true democrat could be in office. I have to admit, I would probably like the guy much more if he were a lot more progressive.

You should make friends with Sean Penn and get to know HIS friends. I bet you'd like THEM.

He is VERY MUCH like a moderate republican when you think about it. I do agree.
I have thought about that before and always question myself as to WHY do so many folks REALLY HATE this president?? WHY do folks bitterly hate THIS PARTICULAR president... hmmmm... OH wait, I think I know WHY and its quite IGNORANT on their part...

No, no he is not.
Now, a RINO Moderate I will agree with, as that is the more correct definer.

The racism card is getting old. Really, really old. My disdain has nothing to do with his ethnicity which includes a white mother and everything to do with his ineptness. Your writing style looks very familiar by the way. How's it going YourWIFI?

Well if Obama is a moderate Republican, the Democrats in Congress will have no problem opposing the upcoming policies and regulations.
And I guess now they should extend all those tax cuts ?
No choice left
President Obama's remarks today about the so-called "fiscal cliff" set the stage for a showdown with Congress likely to last for the next few months. Obama set one line in the sand: revenue. He announced that he would compromise with Republicans, but would not give up his insistence that high-income Americans pay more taxes as part of any long-term deficit solution.
Interestingly, Obama's remarks were not predicated on the assumption that the two sides would strike a deal before January. In fact he assumed they would not, and his message was designed to be repeated through the new year.
Obama's message is that allowing the tax cuts on income under $250,000 a year to expire would harm vulnerable people and slow down the economy, and since both sides favor extending those cuts, Republicans should do it. That is to say, he presupposed the failure of the negotiations and (accurately) pinned the blame for failing to extend the middle-class tax cuts on the GOP.

From all the talk radio shows I've listened to - - - from the beginning.
They have always stated Obama is a Centrist. He has never been a Liberal.
It's just that the GOP went so extreme to the Right - - - they left their own party.

No, I'm sorry, I disagree wholeheartedly. Bill Clinton was more of a centrist than Obama which explains why Congress was more willing to work with him,
