yea... after you heard this version there is no way you can sing it how it used to be...

I know someone who thought the lyrics "and as we wind on down the road" from Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven" was "and there's a wino down the road".

Last night, when I was falling asleep - this thread popped into my thoughts and instantly this song came to mind... sure enough... misheard lyrics covered it!

K this isn't a song lyric but a phrase I learned I had been pronouncing incorrectly since I was ten. Carte blanche. I always thought it was Carpe Launch. I guess I'd never really read it or when I had it didn't stick. Nobody ever corrected me either when I used it. One day, having a nice chat with a rather bright girl I know and was met with a snort laugh. 'Why are you catapulting fish?' Ohhhhhh........... Derp.

Also epitome. I know it, I always say it correctly but every time I read the bastard I can hear the gears in my head crunch for a second.

I remember that great misheard Peter, Paul & Mary folk hit, actually listed in a newspaper Top 10 list (too) many years ago by the title Leave It On A Jet Plane

This one used to make me laugh so hard I would cry and couldn't breathe.

Funny about those two you mentioned. I thought they were:
"Big ole Jet alignment"
" I wanna be your feets a burnin"

In SA, in Afrikaans there's a word "hasie" (which means a rabbit or hare).

The story goes that a dj was overwhelmed with requests for "hasie", and all the people kept asking him: "Speel vir Hasie, speel vir hasie" (play hasie, play hasie).

So eventually he asked somebody what this "hasie" song was, and they said it is:

"Ha sie a bad moon rising ..."
