A woman tourist who was attacked by a 12-foot Tiger shark used her karate skills to fight back and sent the monster packing. She fared a lot better than a surfer who was killed by a shark recently at the same beach in Maui. Patrick Jones has details.

That's awesome. How many people can say they karate chopped a shark in their life? Not many. Great story!

I remember reading or seeing a news clip which said if you're being attacked by a shark, to punch it in the eye or snout. Something about sharks being very sensitive in those areas. Maybe this female fighter unknowingly hit the target and it saved her life.

Exactly what I was thinking. The shark nose is highly sensitive to electricity. She still needed stitches, though, so it wasn't a clean chop.
