People tend to be concerned with local politics. People don't often realize that local politics are intimately intertwined with politics of the UN. This effects every citizen that belongs to a UN member nation. Who's pulling the strings? Who is the Illuminati? Who is the shadow government we all loathe and fear? I believe It's the United Nations.

And we, tend to ignore them. This is by design. It's time for the People of every nation to wake up and start paying more attention to the U.N.'s involvement in your local politics.

Here are some examples:

UN Calls for Worldwide Internet Surveillance and Data Retention in the Name of Fighting Terrorism

U.N. Agency Calls for Teaching Children 5-to-8 Years of Age about Masturbation

New UN White Paper Defines Internet Users as Potential Terrorists

U.N. Official Warns: Electing Mitt Romney Means ‘Democratic Mandate for Torture’

[Must-Watch] Ron Paul Exposes United Nations Plan to Destroy US and Take Over the World,

Soros Promotes UN Control Over Gun Ownership

Senate Poised to Give UN Control of Everything Re the Oceans by Ratifying LOST

ATS has tons more examples. What people don't do is take this information in collectively. They don't see how the UN seeks to undermine the U.S. Constitution and the Constitutions, rights, laws of other countries. We only see a little at a time, and soon, it's forgotten. But they don't forget. They remember like an elephant all the time moving the agenda for world control along without you even realizing it.

Why do stories like the Illuminati and shadow government exist? To draw our attention away from the real culprit The United Nations.

I found this neat website that acts like a watch dog for the U.N. It's called UN Watch.

Some of the links on that site:

U.S. Senate recognizes the United Nations Organization as a Sovereign Nation

US agrees to international control of its troops in Iraq

UN says there's a limit to Free Speech

U.N. resolution to globalize 'gay' rights

UN wants new global currency to replace dollar

U.N. Violates U.S. Law; Pushes Global Tax Schemes

Of course there are many more. My point here is you may or may not agree with the UN on some of these issues, and it looks like itself is not pro or against the UN exactly; But it shows a pattern of the UN reaching out globally to undermine the sovereignty of member countries and insert itself as an entity that is in control, that has the last word.

It should be evident that the U.N. does not reflect the will of We The People, no matter if your from the USA, Canada or other. More often than not, our leaders are working right along with them. If there is any political madness in the world, this is where it comes from. The U.N. must be stopped. It has outgrown it's charter and is no longer an entity that helps our nations come together for the common good.

I'm glad someone made this post I have wanted to for quite some time but I still haven't made my 20 replies.
Mostly because I don't have a lot to say.

It's seems that post that bring this up die, and vanish over time though.

I would challenge anyone to do some digging for themselves, and not come to the same conclusion.
I am pretty much a hermit with nothing better to do than try to figure out the world, and what goes on.
Well that and dance for my cats. It's all I have done after work for 12 or so years.

Anyway thank you for this.

Thank you for putting this thread together

Many people believe the UN to be a useless organization with no pull whatsoever, but they are more dangerous than most people think. They have their hands dipped into every thing, and the globalists use the UN and it's perceived good intentions to forward their agenda on various fronts.

They are an important piece of the puzzle and that is for certain.

It has outgrown it's charter and is no longer an entity that helps our nations come together for the common good.

Its kind of sad, here we have the Illusion of a democratic world government taking votes and creating global policy that should be fair and honest. Unfortunately as soon as they start lying (for the better good) its impossible to know what the facts really are, or who might be unfairly benefiting. Transparency is often an esoteric and self serving function. Maybe its better to just drop out, stop voting and listen.

No. Thank You. Your two recent posts (shown below) were the catalyst that helped me find UNWatch and start thinking hard about how we perceive the U.N.'s involvement in our lives.

Canadian police urge Parliament to pass domestic spying bill

The thread was easy to put together once seeing the overwhelming evidence and patterns. To me, it's not just a conspiracy theory, it's conspiracy fact.

Ok, you're going have to expound a bit more on your OP. You are vilifying the UN, so I had to check to see how many countries there are in the world, and how many belong to the EVIL UN. Surely the US, China, France, and Japan are members, but who else?

While it would appear to be a rather simple matter to determine how many countries there are in the world, it is in fact quite complex. This is due not only to the ever-shifting political landscape, but also because the term ‘countries’ is somewhat fluid and open to interpretation.

A narrow definition of what a country is might look at a well-established group – such as the United Nations – and take its list of recognized members. In the case of the United Nations, there are 193 recognized states, with 192 being members of the United Nations, and the Vatican City, which is a permanent observer with all rights of a member, save voting rights.

There are 196 countries in the world today.

Unless you don't count Taiwan…

Taiwan is not considered an official country by many, which would bring the count down to 195 countries. Although Taiwan operates as an independent country, many countries (including the U.S.) do not officially recognize it as one. Because the People's Republic of China considers Taiwan a breakaway province of China, countries who wish to maintain diplomatic relations with China have had to sever their formal relations with Taiwan (more than 100 countries, however, have unofficial relations with Taiwan).

How many countries belong to the United Nations?

192 countries are UN members. The exceptions are Taiwan (in 1971, the UN ousted Taiwan and replaced it with the People's Republic of China) and Vatican City. Kosovo is not yet a member. The newest UN members are Switzerland (2002) and Montenegro (2006).

So darn near EVERY country in the world belongs to the UN. Given your premise, your secret shadow government actually compromises every country in the world!

Talk about NWO. Talk about despair. It's a world wide collaboration on a global scale.

So is the UN bringing about a NWO? That's what I want to know.

I think of it this way, with all the people in the world, how hard would it be to find the most evil in every country and place them there, we do this kind of thing all the time, except here in the U.S we have more due to having the capital of nonsense known as Washington D.C.

Peace, NRE.

I understand it like this. Although the U.N. is made up of many member nations. ( almost every country in the world) just like the U.S. is made of states, the U.N. member nations ambassadors do not represent the will of their collective peoples. The U.N. has it's own body of policy makers just like every nation has their own legislatures. Those local legislatures do not necessarily represent the People either. They represent lobbyists and special corporate interests. So too does the policy making body of the UN follow this same scheme. Every one of those member nations have been subject to U.N. Policy in one shape or form usurping the will of that nations peoples, rights, laws etc. Like here in the USA, many times, We The People don't have a say in the matter. It's really not a collaboration of the all the nations peoples.. it's their ambassadors to the UN and leaders who are in cahoots IMO.

Not every nation member always agrees with the policies of the U.N. But, someone is still pulling enough strings to get a majority vote to push an agenda through.. just like happens in US politics. If there is an Illuminati then they control and manipulate the U.N. member nations through the tool of the United Nations itself. We need to take a stronger look at all nations ambassadors to the U.N. and all the higher ranking members of the U.N. to find these links and uncover a larger agenda. In the US for example this would be Susan Rice, Ambassador to the UN, then the Secretary of State then The President in that order.

Sure, the U.N. does have some policies most everyone agrees with, but the patterns of denying us our sovereignty are clearly there. They can't put on a contrary face all the time, that would be a stupid move if your trying to control people.

Any chance that's why they made Obama Head of the Security Council?

Dunno how much more blatant it could get than that unless of course someone gave him a Nobel Peace prize for um, getting elected? The official "you can trust this guy" seal of approval, really?

The IMF is trying to establish itself as the sole monetary agency for international loans and would no doubt become the central bank with a new digital currency in the event of the collapse of the dollar. Oh, we all know that could never happen, right?

Cap and trade, carbon taxes, NATO as their pet bitch war hound, small arms treaty, L.O.S.T.,'s an octopus with tentacles everywhere.

The real power is pushing the UN towards dominance internationally and they're sitting back and biding their time. The collapse of the American/British/European fiat money systems would play right in to their hands.

I used to laugh at the idea of communists/socialists trying to take over the government until you realize just how much America has changed in the last 50 years. Freedom is on it's last gasp right now and the entire concept of individual rights and freedom is at stake, not democracy.....that's what they want to sell us on - an international democratic organization like - the UN for instance!

Yeah, we're in trouble.

Read Beast on the East River; It covers the UN from 1945 - to whenever the Hutu/Tutsi thing was going on. They've allowed many, many massacres to happen and promote genocide with water, agriculture and medical programs. All masquerading as "helping people".

For the record, I'm not against the concept of United Nations, I just want one with no power.

But as a unit, the UN has an agenda. What is that?

Surely they just don't get together and drink tea.

They voice censorship and human rights at the same time. Those are the visible agendas. The ambassador from every nation, it seems, push their own countries agenda, at least, the agenda of the people in power.

But this IS a world stage, and real. The IMF will be soon in control of the world's currency, the Federal Reserve yielding due to the current debt of the United States, which everyone knows is unpayable. We pay 63 million per day in interest alone. The economy is unstable, propped up under promises, and I think what we are seeing is the back-up plan the UN has planned. Perhaps, even set into motion.

One currency. Forget the Euro or the Dollar. The International Monetary Fund supecedes the Federal Reserve.

That's all just speculation, but how close is it to the truth?

I gave you a star since you are generally right, you just miss the part of who "controls" (maybe too strong a word, probably a better one would be manages) the UN, and that is the US government. Something that most of those posting in this thread seem to be oblivious of...

Learn a bit of history, see what UN directives are implemented and fallowed (hint Israel) and who benefits (hint Iraq Oil for Food), there are numerous facts and events that demonstrates the premise. The UN is an extension of the US government one more instrument of geopolitics it uses, of course there has to be some moderation and most of it happens as JohnPhoenix puts it (lobbying and machinations that are performed outside of public eyes).

Thanks for the info and book suggestion. I'll be sure to check it out. I agree much has changed over the years. I'm only 44 but this is not the same nation I grew up in.

I don't think the U.N. as a body of nations has an agenda. Only the folks pulling the strings. Is any of this provbale, how close to the truth is it? I think only time study and observations can tell you that. ( of course if thats true and nothing is done, it wont matter when they gethe upper hand unless we act in hindsight) I'll still maintain from where I sit, it looks that's where they are heading.

I don't doubt that the US government is involved in a big way as well are the Rockefeller's, Bilderberg's and the rest of the super powerful rich elite. I think other countries too try to use the U.N. for their agendas. Is the US Gov the sole puppet masters or are they just the most visible?

I agree I should brush up on my history.. I'm as guilty as most of not being up on all the issues. That's reflected in this thread. I think we all including myself should pay better attention. I'll research those connections you speak of. Thanks.

They will succeed, too. A number of other nations will be "forced" to join in order to stop something upcoming from occurring, creating a stabilization of sorts. As for religion, well, it's been talked about many times here on ATS, but the documents have already been passed and yes, I'm afraid organized religions are pretty much done.

Look up the U.N.'s new motto.

I'm looking forward to the new order of things. You will too, I promise, when you find out more in the future.

I searched for the United Nations Motto. I came up with a few interesting things.
!) October 07, 2004
Motto on the entrance of the United Nations building

(Persian) Iranian poet Saadi, wrote a poem eight century ago that later became a motto on the entrance of the United Nations building.
Saadi, eloquently manifested:

The sons of Adam are limbs of each other, Having been created of one essence.
When the calamity of time affects one limb The other limbs cannot remain at rest.
If thou hast no sympathy for the troubles of others
Thou art unworthy to be called by the name of a human.

2) WikiAnswers says the motto is : New World Order, Peace an Security

3) WikiAnswers also sayts the UN's motto for the year 2011 is: United Nation saves the generations

4) But I think my favorite so far is the take the Unenclopedia has on the UN:

The United Nations or 'UN' was set up after WW2 and Hitler in an effort to stop anyone else trying to take over the world. The goals of the UN include: Trying to take over the world, corruption, prostitution, pedophilla, taxing the air, pedophobia, people trafficking, dikephobia, war, famine, genocide, and failing to actually fix anything when they had the chance.

Former present UN Secretary Kofi Annan (the dude that looked like Morgan Freeman) firmly denied charges that the organization was corrupt and pointless, often pointing out that the UN Coat of Arms is identical to that of the Soviet Union (see right), and that David Rockefeller personally paid for the UN head quarters building using his own money, and that he arranging the builders to build the building. As such everything will be just fine.
The motto of the UN is "Standing proud in complacency", which replaced the less catchy "Good intentions, bad results" in 1996. Its current mission is: "To foster the growth of the world's bureaucracies while developing innovative methods for our member nations to disguise corruption as humanitarian aid". This is quite a departure from its founding principal of "Allowing third world idiots to park on the streets of your town wherever they damn well please".

There are 452 Members in the United Nations. Although Article 192(A)(1)(ii)(f) of the strongly worded Constitution states that all Members are equal, the opinions of 5 of the Members are the most important. These 5 members are (in alphabetical order): the United States of America, the Kingdom of McDonalds, the Central African Republic, Angelina Jolie and Slobodan Milosevic. The latter two, although not being eligible for membership in the UN, were invited to join by the Former Present UN Secretary after popular demonstrations in the overpopulated Island State of Nauru. "Democracy everywhere (at our discretion)" is the internal motto of the Members of the United Nations.

More of this truth based satire found here:

My reasearch also led me to this proving that Obama doesn't have the slightest clue what our national motto is: ( This alone is reason enough not to re-elect him)

Thanks for this. Yeah, the zionists have run to the one end of their ship that hasn't sunk yet. I know that it's boring, dreadfully so, but so long as they exist then our lives are at risk of becoming without Liberty, which is more important than life itself. They always know what they are doing, and why they do it.

It's up to us to be 1 step ahead of their next step. Excellent. What will they do now?

Or, we could 'infiltrate, and look for loopholes, and don't actually stand for, or say anything openly or we'll get executed.....ya know, just live life, whichever way the wind blows....hey, wanna see my tats?'

They can and will ban religion. I'm not making this up.
It was literally already discussed on the UN floor.
If you don't think they are able, please read on:

2000_UNESCO_REDEFINE_FAMILY.--UNESCO's, "World Core Curriculum"

UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, was established in 1945 to disseminate educational, cultural and scientific materials deemed essential for establishing toleration and peace. During the Reagan administration, the U.S. pulled out of UNESCO, charging the agency with rampant waste and fraud, and a hard-left pro-Soviet slant. Sharing many of these concerns, Great Britain also withdrew from UNESCO at about the same time.

Prior to his decision to rejoin UNESCO, President Bush reached out to social conservatives, and was warned that many groups were increasingly concerned with UNESCO's ongoing support of the UN's radical social agenda. UNESCO collaborates with the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) and its main Non Government Organization (NGO) partner, the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). In line with these groups, UNESCO now advocates for reproductive health services for children. In UN parlance, reproductive health services includes abortion. For instance, one UNESCO document praises Thailand's provision of abortion-causing "emergency contraceptives" to children as an "innovative strategy."

UNESCO is also a proponent of the International Guidelines on HIV/AIDS and Human Rights, a document written by UNAIDS and the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights. The document calls on governments to ensure a right to safe and legal abortion, to legalize same-sex marriages, to legalize prostitution, and to provide graphic sexual and homosexual education to children. The document also seeks the establishment of "criminal penalties" for people engaged in speech construed to be a "vilification" of homosexuality.

In the name of AIDS-reduction, UNESCO has fully embraced reproductive and sex education. In concert with UNAIDS and UNFPA, UNESCO has created curricula that many social conservatives would believe undermine parental authority, show disdain for traditional cultures and religious worldviews, and introduce dishonesty into education. A great deal of UNESCO's other educational materials fall squarely in the camp of political correctness, endorsing liberal stances on such issues as gender and environmentalism.

In 1982, the UN (UNESCO) adopted Robert Muller's World Core Curriculum as a model for all nations to follow. Robert Muller, former United Nations Assistant Secretary General, wrote the "World Core Curriculum." Broadly speaking, the World Core Curriculum is a tetrahedron based on 4 primary components:

Our Planetary Home and Our Place in the Universe,
Our Place in Time,
The Family of Humanity, and
The Miracle of Individual Life.

Muller, adopted ideas for his Curriculum from questionable philosophies espoused by the founders of the Theosophical society in pre-revolutionary Russia. The objective of Muller's Curriculum is to produce an egalitarian society, working cooperatively, in harmony, without competition or strife, and without individual thought or opinion.

More significantly, the Curriculum advocates taking away the student's early childhood and family influence--replace it with a "global family." He suggests that education of a child should start at birth and be oriented to the "macrocosm" and that early family influences somehow promote "an egocentric mind set" and will result in a negative or undesirable outcome. In other words, the influence of the traditional family must be abolished for the good of society. Our modern Outcome Based Education curriculums and the U.S. Goals 2000 closely resemble the guidelines of the World Core Curriculum.

Recognizing the fact that under "Treaty (or Convention) Law" America's participation in UNESCO brings with it the "treaty requirement" that America adopt and implement UNESCO's World Core Curriculum.

You are on the right track but this is only the tip of the ice berg.

Look up stuff like the Pilgrims Society, Le Cercle or Pinay Cercle, and the 1001 Nature Trust.

Those are just for fun to reveal the complexity and sophistication
we are dealing with here.

Check out some of the last threads I made, they are at least
75 to 80 % accurate if not better. And its just a intro course, by
researching everything you will find infinite more on your own
and can come to your own conclusions.

Just question everything than set about seeking answers, then question that and
double or triple check, etc. Try to set aside bias or preconception
and consider what you observe.

The New Order of The Ages, as they call it, is actually the Old Order too, in many ways.
The UN is a component, but it isn't the apex of the proverbial pyramid of power, for lack of
a better terminology.
