Does this creature have a name?

Hello,

I am searching for whether or not a particular type of creature/demon has a name.

They have ash grey skin; very long arms with three to four long finger-like claws on a sort-of hand; the legs end in tapered points, no feet (I've been told they walk "daintily").
They may be involved in causing nightmares, and seem to feed from fear and other negative feelings, as well as give off a "dark vibration".

I have searched, but had no luck, and all of you seem to know various things.

I thank you for you time.

I was actually looking for a dear friend of mine. She has been searching for a name for this creature, she is considering "Mare" as possible. But she is unsure as the appearance isn't really...

So I was hoping to help her dig something else up.

All jokes aside OP, what you described at first sounded much like the typical Grey. Minus the claws, how ever there are so many variations to their supposed description, depending on the case and situation.

I think you'll find the creatures you're describing are dementors.
They feed on the souls of the living and they are employed as guards at azkaban

Does this face in the cave entrence look anything like it?
